Note to self (and you)
Your body is the least interesting thing about you. Its size, tannedness, width, firmness, softness, wrinkles, and scars do not determine your worth or your right to be at the beach and be free.
Will there be people with lovely toned bodies at the beach? Yes. Will there be people with softer tummies? Yes. Will it really matter when we are all together on the sand sharing our hearts and connecting with each other? No!
You have just as much right to wear your birthday suit as the girl who is much smaller, or two sizes larger than you. We all look amazing.
Your body has carried you through every single thing you’ve ever experienced without expecting anything in return. It quite literally has no other purpose then to keep you going.
Are you in a different size than you were the first time you were at the beach? Sure. But look at what else has changed. Look at the adventures you’ve had, the wisdom you’ve gained. Look at what this body has helped you build, create, and experience.
You take up as much space as you want sweetheart. There is room for all of us on the beach.
Your body is the least interesting thing about you, them, us.
Show them your heart, your laughter, your love.
Be free and feel free at the beach.
10 years from now, you’ll be glad you did.
