In the Carlson family, we call these Patti Peas 🫛

My grandparents in Victoria grow the sweetest, most tender peas... And when my mom would visit, she would gush about what a treat they are. All that pea appreciation sprouted the nickname Patti Peas! There's really nothing like sitting in their kitchen, shucking fresh spring peas, then enjoying them bathed in butter

For the first time IN A LONG TIME, I'll be adding a new necklace style to my repertoire.

Designing earrings comes naturally to me, but for some reason I get stuck on necklaces. The trade situation with the US has forced me to track down new suppliers for many of my jewelry findings, and in doing so I discovered these chunky glass beads. They are made in Ghana from recycled glass bottles.

These beautiful beads got my creativity flowing and I came up with this necklace style with the glass beads spaced out on cord with leather pieces sandwiched (glued, Double sided) to as spacers for the glass beads.

I also find necklaces hard to price as they are much more labour intensive than earrings for me! Some of these styles have cords which I sewed from hand painted silk Charmeuse - a scrap of fabric from my university grad collection! These necklaces will range from $98-$120. I will have one each of all the green/blue ones and 2 of the red one available on my online shop when the collection launches

On my way to the studio one day, a bright flash of Crimson caught my eye and I decided to try and recreate the shade of this Rose on a scrap of leather

Ocean Workshop Pics! I had so much fun teaching this workshop in Victoria back in April. This was my first time teaching a fairly complex project, and I was really impressed with what was accomplished during our 2.5 hours together.

Some people went with the projects following the examples to a T, and some absolutely made it their own. Shoutouts to the fabulous Rainbow Trouts, the Octopus, and the meticulously detailed version of the Rainbow Fish (from the children's book)!!!

I'm excited to be teaching this workshop again in Vancouver, twice! I've got lots of spots available for my May 27 workshop and just a few for my June 5th one. Both are at Ticket Link in bio
