Gems International Cultural Association Inc. is a registered, non-profit organization who is committed to investing in our community by maximizing leadership development and educational advancement in our youths. Our Mission Statement is to empower our youths to become responsible contributors in their community, uplift their self-esteem, promote social awareness and leadership skills, as well as

honour them for their academic and community excellence. The past CEO and founder of Gems, Mrs. Desiree Amour- Longe, who passed away in 2011, viewed the Association as a means of raising the bar in our community, showcasing talent and producing events that embraced her vision. As part of her continued contribution to the community, her plan was to help facilitate the empowerment of our youth through education assistanceby awarding post-secondary students with bursary awards. The concept of Gems was born in the realization that our youths are the Gems of our community and to focus that vision around the young men and women who benefit from it. Our strength as an organization comes from the combination of our shared values, vision and purpose. After two decades of showcasing hundreds of intelligent young men and women in the community under the umbrellas of the Guyana Canada Pageant Cultural Association, Scholarship Recognition Awards, The Cotillion Ball and the Mother’s Day Brunch. The next natural step for Gems’ is the hosting of its 1st Annual Fashion Show, Dinner and Dance on July 13, 2013. This event fulfils Gems’ mandate in producing an extravaganza with great food, great entertainment and camaraderie among family and friends. Mother’s Day is approaching soon. May 12th, 2019 - get your early bird tickets seal a table of 10 for $400, thats $40 each before Feb 28/19. Prices go up to $50 there after - Children tickets 12 and under for $30 - no tickets will be sold at the door
