I was back at the torch today on this gloomy and grey Sunday making some more custom whale tail necklaces for Peggy’s Cove Glass!

In more positive news, my work has been available at the Art Gallery of Burlington Shop for over a month now!

This one is very special to me for a couple of reasons. The AGB is my hometown gallery, and it is so nice to have my work somewhere that celebrates and represents truly local artists.

But the AGB, in a roundabout way, played a small part in launching my journey into glass.

22 years ago (👵🏻), a year before I started the Crafts and Design program at Sheridan, I took some night classes at the gallery learning all I could about the magic of a pottery wheel. When I started at Sheridan, I actually entered the program for ceramics, with glass as my minor for the first semester.

Well... we obviously know how that worked out, don’t we? 😂

I definitely didn’t know where those nights at the pottery wheel would lead, but having my glass work at the AGB all these years later feels like a pretty great full-circle moment. 💕

Alright friends. With Section 338 in effect as trade talks have broken down, anything heading to the US is now subject to a 50% tariff. As such I have once again closed shipping to the States on my website and my Etsy shop. Unfortunately the HTS code my jewellery falls under, that was once CUSMA exempt, is now on the tariff list.

This is a major bummer, especially since a vast majority of my Etsy sales were to the States.

I really hope this gets settled sooner rather than later, but in the meantime please support your Canadian artists. We have been on an absolute roller coaster since this trade war started and need local support more than ever before ❤️🇨🇦

Day one in Haliburton has officially begun! The weather is beautiful and I’ve already been for a refreshing pre-show swim! ☀️
