Mr. Fergus is just back from Bounce and Bark Boarding in Merrickville with hosts Linda and Brian. Another stellar report card with one B ~ for a minor infraction of jumping up. Looking for a lap no doubt, as he’s on Dave’s every chance he gets.

B & B Boarding is just the best place. No cages, no leashes, and lots of outdoor fun with the other dogs. What more could you ask for??

Oh!! And they provide dozens of daily photos and videos of all their guests on their page. It’s really cute and gives you such peace of mind knowing your dog is safe and happy when you’re away. ♥️🐾

I had such a lovely time at their Smith’s Falls location ~ it’s always a fabulous place, but it feels especially magical at Christmas.

✨ Out Of My Nest is all set for tomorrow at Gemmell’s Handmade For The Holidays Market ~ Smiths Falls location, 9–4pm! ✨

This place is absolutely transformed into a *magical* Christmas wonderland… every type of evergreen tree you can imagine — natural, woodland, snowy white, gold + silver glitz, even a fuchsia tree!

You’ll find décor for your table, your front step, gorgeous boughs that smell incredible, plus every kind of living flower and plant. There’s even a 75-year-old jade plant in bloom right now… did you even know jades could flower?! 🌸✨

I’ll be there with my handmade, one-of-a-kind Boho jewelry ~ necklaces, earrings, stacks of bracelets, and trendy eyeglass chains.

🎁 The year I discovered giving was as good as getting...

I was about 12, and had made a wood collage of a man for my sister Rose-Marie. The stain was barely dry when she arrived with her family for Christmas Eve at our house in Almonte ~ The Friendly Town. My sister is gone now, but this little guy was among her things that went to me. 💝

P.S. I sanded but didn’t cut all those little pieces of wood. A wonderful family friend and artist named Madeleine Moir was working with wood collage at that time and she was my creative mentor. I loved to visit her home and was free to use whatever pieces I liked. 🤗

🎄 It’s like a Where’s Waldo situation. 🤷🏻‍♀️ SO many Christmas tree decorations… collected from craft shows & markets all around the Ottawa Valley for well over 50 years. Also many that I have made, my kids have made, & more that my sister, sister-in-law, nieces & nephew have made.

They bring back such an
A V A L A N C H E of memories ~ *wonderful* memories… where I bought them ~ & often, even the particular artist that created them. What was going on in my life at the time, & in the lives of my kids… at school, or daycare, or which trip we took where.

That’s the real beauty of Christmas tree ornaments ~ they remind you where you’ve been, & where you’re from. ♥️

Another new ✨Cha-Cha✨ bracelet in a gorgeous mix of cherry red, crimson, garnet and cranberry ~ highlighted with warm brass accents.

Lots of unusual Czech glass beads and over three dozen dangles create the perfect festive jingle. Many have that aged Picasso finish I love so much.
