My name is Nicole Bedard, and Three Winds Handcrafted Jewellery began as a hobby for me in 2006. Following the completion of an introductory beading course, the creative process of jewellery design won me over and I was swept up by the joy of creating something unique and personal. I began by making pieces for myself. Before long, friends and family were requesting certain items for themselves, or
to give as gifts. The next thing I knew, I was registering my business and attending business classes. I've enjoyed working with a variety of material over the years but I particularly enjoy working with aluminum, silver plated, and stainless steel chain. I love the look of pearls and chain which I interpret as “class and sass”. The use of semi-precious stones gives me the opportunity to discover new stones which inspire unique creations, and the use of glass and crystal add a sparkle that I can't resist. I've recently discovered the art of hammered sterling wire which has opened a whole new creative world to me and has led to some interesting designs that cannot be perfectly duplicated, resulting in a line of unique pieces. It is important to me to provide a product to people that is both affordable and pleasing to wear. Each piece is truly a labour of love. It has been through getting to know people and getting a feel for what they like and what attracts them that has resulted in these designs. There’s nothing better than knowing that each piece is chosen by someone special who I hope will get as much joy out of wearing it as I had out of creating it.
