A friend recently asked me to turn her mom’s vintage etched sterling silver cuff into a pair of earrings. I loved the idea—and I also made these three pendants from that same special piece. ❤️
While working on the commission, I wondered if I had something similar from my own mom. I found this charming bracelet, which my dad must have given her many years ago. Her name is even inscribed on the back.
It feels especially meaningful to find it now, as Mom celebrates her 95th birthday this week.
Happy 95th Birthday, Mom. ❤️ I’ll keep you close to my heart today and always. Here’s to a lifetime of memories, laughter, and friendship.

Hard to believe this is the last long weekend of summer! ☀️
I’m guessing I’m not the only one wondering where the summer went. There’s nothing quite like living on Pender in the summer months—but judging by the weather the past couple of days, it might be time to switch gears… and maybe even switch wardrobes!
I’m feeling a bit of that shift in my jewelry studio too, dreaming up new designs using my beloved repurposed materials (and pearls, and sea glass😊).
Summer isn’t quite over yet, though, so I’m going to enjoy every last bit of it!
See you Saturday at the Community Hall, 9:30-1:00!

Here’s what a mini restock looks like in my world.
Like many on Pender, I’ve been busily getting ready for the Fall Fair. It’s such a lovely time of year—when all the growing, sewing, baking and creating comes together.
There will be a number of Market vendors on the grassed area along the road just before you enter the parking lot.
Good luck to everyone with their entries, and see you there!

That was a fun week. ❤️
I had the wonderful opportunity to meet a group of people who I think will become friends—all because of my jewelry.
It got me reflecting on the past 10 years of attending the Pender Island Saturday Market. What began as a creative pursuit has brought me so many unexpected gifts, especially friendship.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported my creative habit, both financially and, even more importantly, through friendship and encouragement.
I think that’s the best return on investment there is. Here’s to many more Saturdays, new faces, creativity and friendships!
See you tomorrow at the Community hall - 9:30-1:00.

I call this design "The Mary" after British fashion designer Mary Quant. If you’re of my vintage, you may remember her! She was an icon best known for popularizing the mini skirt and hot pants.
Mary Quant’s trademark logo was a simple, stylized flower, and the shape of this flower reminds me of it. I love the idea of giving this design a little nod to one of the women who helped define an era's spirit and style.
A little bit of nostalgia, a little bit of flower power, and a little bit of groovy. 🌸✨
We hope to see you at the Community Hall, Saturday 9:30-1:00.

I've always admired my mom's ability to find the perfect words to describe a moment. At 94 (95 next month!), she still has that gift.
I visited her in Sidney yesterday and, as always, she loved looking through some of my latest jewelry creations. She carefully admired each piece before saying, "They're so pretty... and all so very wearable."
That simple observation really stayed with me.
"Wearable" is exactly what I hope my jewelry is. Pieces that are meant to be worn, enjoyed, and become part of everyday life.
Thank you, Mom. Your words are always thoughtful, and your intuition never ceases to amaze me. I think I inherited my creative spirit from you, and I'm grateful for that every day.
We hope to see you this Saturday at the Market from 9:30 to 1:00. Maybe you'll find a piece of "wearable" handcrafted jewelry that's perfect for you.

Many of the pieces I create fit the one-of-a-kind description, thanks to the unique vintage and antique materials I love working with. These three are no exception—once they're gone, there won't be others exactly like them.
One of these pieces, in particular, may be a little harder to part with. That doesn't happen very often... but every now and then a design finds a special place in my heart 💛
We hope to see you tomorrow at the Community Hall, 9:30-1:00.

A few hearts from the studio. ❤️ The heart may be the universal symbol of love, but it can also represent friendship, hope, compassion, kindness, and joy. I like to think every heart tells its own story. Whether you're choosing one for someone you love or simply because it makes you smile, I hope these little hearts find the person who needs them.
I'll be at the market this Saturday from 9:30–1:00 with these and many other handcrafted pieces. Hope to see you there!

To me, daisies are pure fun. 🌼 They’re a little wild, a little carefree, and remarkably resilient. They seem able to thrive in almost any growing condition, always standing tall and bright. Then, without much fuss, they scatter their seeds and return the following year as if they never left.
This daisy-inspired piece celebrates that same cheerful spirit—a little reminder to bloom wherever you’re planted.
We look forward to seeing you Saturday at the Community Hall- 9:30-1:00!

Some of my jewelry pieces make me smile—especially hearts and flowers (and whale tails and pearls). I think of them as my happy pieces. Each was created to bring a little joy and, hopefully, a smile to your face.
Another beautiful day is in the forecast for Saturday, and we’ll be at the Market from 9:30 AM–1:00 PM. We hope you’ll stop by and say hello! ☀️
