This week’s design adventure in the studio centered around a charming vintage silver-plated casserole server. I was drawn to its beautiful pierced pattern and knew it deserved a second life. After careful cutting, shaping, and polishing, these rectangular earrings emerged.
There’s something satisfying about uncovering the hidden potential in vintage pieces and transforming them into jewelry that can be worn and enjoyed every day. Fun to think these earrings started life as a casserole server before becoming something new to wear and treasure.
Hope to see you this Saturday at the Market! It’s forecasted to be a beautiful day. Community Hall 9:30–1:00. 🌸

Well, how fun was that! As I’ve said before, I love working with pennies. This week, I spent time experimenting with adding texture to the little beauties using my rolling mill. There were many steps in the process from start to finish, but I think the end result was worth the time spent.
So… penny for your thoughts?
We look forward to seeing you Saturday at the Community Hall- 9:30-1:00!

Another first for me. 🌸
I recently purchased a very special tray from an antiques and collectables dealer in Ontario. I first spotted it online, and the design was impossible to pass up.
Often, vintage trays and cutlery find their way to me as gifts from people hoping their treasured family heirlooms will be given new life and be loved again, rather than sitting tucked away in a Rubbermaid tub in the garage for another 20 years.
But this piece was different — a design unlike any I’ve ever seen.
I prefer knowing who this beauty once belonged to, but it is now officially ready for its next cherished chapter.
This long weekend marks the official launch of the summer market. We look forward to seeing you Saturday at the Community Hall- 9:30-1:00!

As I spent time in my studio creating pieces for this week’s Market, I couldn’t help thinking about the fact that it’s Mother’s Day weekend. I felt especially lucky knowing that not only do I still have my mom — almost 95 years young — but that she has been my best friend for my entire life.
We’ve shared so many moments that I will always hold close to my heart. She has taught me countless things that have shaped who I am, especially the importance of cherishing family and friends and always leading with kindness. Thank you, Mom — to the moon and back. 🌸❤
Hope to see you this Saturday at the Market! Community Hall 10:00–1:00.

Every week, I hope to create something new or experience something I haven’t before. This week, I experimented with patinas on copper—completely new territory for me—and planted begonias for the first time. I know that sounds like a small thing to some, but it felt meaningful to me. While I was planting, I thought of my late—and very much missed—mother-in-law. She was an incredible begonia grower. ❤️
If you’re planning to come to the Market this Saturday (Pender Island Community Hall, 10–1:00), stop by and say hello. I’d love to show you what's new.

Best laid plans…
I had hoped to spend this week making copper bracelets—but that didn’t quite happen. Instead, it turned into a mini restock of some sparkly silver earrings.
Hope to see you this Saturday at the Market! It’s shaping up to be a beautiful day, and some of us will be outside soaking up that lovely spring sunshine. Community Hall 10:00–1:00. 🌸

Whenever I spend time making whale tails, I can’t help but think about my 17 years working for Ken Balcomb, Founder of the Center for Whale Research—truly my dream job.
April 1 marks the 50th anniversary of the start of Ken’s lifelong study, named Orca Survey, and 50 years ago today, he had his first encounter with J Pod. Ken devoted his adult life to studying whales—a variety of ecotypes, but primarily the Southern Resident orcas. He was a true pioneer, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have learned so much from him and from the whales themselves.
Happy Anniversary, Ken, and thank you for your friendship and passion for the incredible creatures that inhabit the waters we call home.
I’ll be at the Market this Saturday alongside many other talented (and delicious!) vendors. Community Hall 10:00–1:00. Hope to see you there!

Easter long weekend—a wonderful time to gather with family and friends.
This week at my bench, I created a cobalt blue sea glass pendant set in antique sterling silver, along with an intricate sterling silver ring crafted from a very special vintage spoon handle.
Come to the Saturday market to celebrate with those you love! There will be plenty of vendors and a ton of fun.
We hope to see you tomorrow from 10:00–1:00 at the Community Hall!

Circles and swirls — timeless forms with both spiritual and aesthetic appeal. Each piece carries its own energy and story, and I am happy with how they’ve come together.
If you’re out enjoying the last stretch of spring break, we’d love to see you at the Pender Island Community Hall this Saturday (10-1:00). Come take a look, and maybe find a piece that fits. ☀🌸

All things spring this week 🌼
Spring Break has begun, and we’re only a few days away from the official start of the season. One of my favourite parts (besides the daffodils and cherry blossoms) is the sound of the birds as dawn approaches. Loud, enthusiastic, and full of energy… kinda like me at times.
In addition to our regular group of Pender growers and creators, we welcome vendors visiting from Galiano and Mayne. It’s always a great way to welcome the season and connect with our island community.
We hope to see you there! Saturday • 10:00–1:00
