It has been two days since this incredible event ended, and I’m still absorbing everything that happened there.
One thing I realized while putting this carousel together is that I almost didn’t take any pictures. I was genuinely enjoying every single second of it, so I kept forgetting to take my phone out.
This was my first time exhibiting at TOAF, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The Toronto Outdoor Art Fair team... wow! You can really feel how much they care about bringing the best for the artists, the visitors, and the city! Everything runs so smoothly, but what impressed me the most was their energy. Sophie, Ania, Cate...everyone, thank you for everything you put into making this event so special.
What made this experience truly special were all the conversations at my booth. To everyone who stopped by to hear the story behind my jewellery, ask about my process, share your own experiences, tell me how Breaking the Pattern resonated with you, or simply spend a few minutes with me... THANK YOU. It was an honour!
I loved this moment of Pino Cao being interviewed. It felt like such a great representation of the talent that surrounded me throughout the weekend. My neighbours were the best! I found the kindest, most generous, and most lovely people. Thank you, Pino, Roberto Centazzo, Anshul Sharma, Shu-Chen Cheng, and Brad Turner, for all the laughs, the conversations, and for making those three days even more special.
I also want to give a shout-out to fellow jewellers whose work I truly admire: ROOZ Jewellery, Lori Francescutti, and BaoJwlry I was so happy to see some of you again and to meet others for the first time. Lori also happened to be one of my neighbours, which made it even better. 🤍
And, well, apparently my shoes decided that the show was over too. They literally fell apart just after the show ended, while we were packing up.
Thankfully, my dear neighbour Shu-Chen Cheng came to the rescue with some duct tape so I could make it back to my car with some dignity (and my shoes) still in one piece. 😅🙏
