A love for jewellery, design, and creating things prompted Michelle to launch Black Mahi Designs. Nature, culture, story telling, architecture, and colour serve as sources of inspiration for the collection. The influence of Michelle's own Asian culture is important and can be seen in many of the pieces. Black Mahi Designs’ jewellery is classic with a modern twist. There is meaning and a story told

by each piece - communicated through the gemstones and/or symbols used. The pieces can be worn with jeans, a night on the town, or a wedding. The collection contains pieces made with sterling silver, gold fill, leather, semi-precious gemstones, Swarovski crystal, freshwater pearls, wood, and Japanese hand screened Chiyogami/Yuzen paper, all of which are carefully hand selected. Black Mahi Designs believes in giving back and has been involved with community events and charity.
