Apparently I was “sneaky” yesterday. 😅
What actually happened?
A sale ended.
I forgot to take down the sign.
That’s it. That’s the scandal. 😂
When I noticed someone looking at the display, I realized the sign was still there, I apologized, explained that the promotion had ended showing them the date on the sign, and removed it.
Should I have remembered to remove the sign? Absolutely. That was my mistake. I own it.
But turning a very normal human error into an accusation that a small business owner is being intentionally misleading or “sneaky” is… a lot.
Small businesses are run by actual people.
People who forget things.
People who make mistakes.
People who are juggling 47 things at once.
People who will happily own it when they mess up.
There was no sneaky sales tactic. No master plan to lure someone in with discounted hair clips. 😂
Just a sign I simply forgot to take down. That’s all.
A little grace for your local small business owners goes a long way. 💜
