Buckle up, this is a long one ❤️
When I first started Ukiyo Clay Co, I was in the postpartum trenches with my daughter. I started Ukiyo Clay as a means to stay home with her, and work as and when I could around her schedule. Through this creative means I was able to find myself again, get some of my pink back as they say.
I had hoped that by the time she starts school the business would be booming and it could become a forever-gig. Unfortunately that's just not the case, and that's okay.
Sales plummeted in 2025, with my daughter now in full time daycare, I had a lot of time to work on earrings but found myself just sitting on a lot of stock and feeling pretty defeated. This pushed me to seek other employment opportunities, taking me down a career path I never imagined. In December I ventured out even more and have now started my own esthetics business - this takes up a lot of mental real estate outside of parenting, that I don't have much left to give to continue to fight for Ukiyo to rise up again.
I've made lots of friends along the way; other market vendors and business owners, and repeat customers. I'm so grateful for everyone who supported me, whether that was following and liking my posts, or proudly wearing my creations. From the bottom of my heart - thank you.
Ukiyo Clay Co served it's purpose that it was created for - I was able to stay home with Elsie for nearly 3 years and I'm incredibly grateful for that.
I'll be liquidating my supplies and selling off the remainder of my stock.
I would love if you could follow my new business page while I kickstart this new venture. The Main Beauty Bar
All my love, Chloe 🤍
