I’m happy to say I’ve joined the team at Leamington Arts Centre where will be framing. Come out to say Hello and check out the new framing facilities!

Join us TOMORROW from 1-3pm for an afternoon at the LAC!

We will be celebrating the opening of two great exhibits - Arts Together: LAC Welcomes ASK, and A Stitch in Time: Barbara Alkemade. Come by and enjoy some local art, free charcuterie, and conversation with local artists!

We will also be holding an open house for our NEW Framing Shop! View our new design room, samples, and meet our new framing & design consultant Anna Lamarche to learn more about what we offer!

Admission is $3 or 2 for $5. Members, exhibiting artists, youth under 12, indigenous card holders, & support workers are free!

As you probably know, we’re moving. Downsizing, actually. We have art, picture frames, stained glass, and other stuff. I’m going to sell off everything for a song. If you’re interested, this is the week to do it. Message for a viewing. I’m adding to this collection daily.

To my wonderful customers:
I’ve been so privileged to service this community for 20 years and I’ve been challenged by several of your wonderful pieces of art and historic artifacts.
Unfortunately, the time has come to retire the business. I will be wrapping things up and selling all equipment within a month or two. We have purchased a new retirement home and will pass this beautiful heritage property to the next generation to care for and love as we have.
Things are a bit chaotic right now, with appointments and culling so I would ask that you call for an appointment from now on as I can’t keep regular hours.
It will be hard saying goodbye. I’ve come to know many of you so well and will miss our interactions.
Be assured that I will finish all the projects I am currently working on (I have a huge order coming in today) and you should receive a call next week with your finished projects.
I apologize for the suddenness of this decision but the right place presented itself and we snapped it up.

What Causes Fading?

Fading can’t be prevented forever—but by protecting artwork from known dangers like light, heat, and humidity, framers can prolong the art’s life.

To many, fading is what happens when something is exposed to light. However, fading can occur even when an object is kept in the dark such as in a closet or a desk drawer.

Fading is caused by light, heat, changes in relative humidity, atmospheric pollutants such as sulfur dioxide, and ozone. Each of these categories are not mutually exclusive. In fact, in combination, several of these factors will cause more rapid fading than by each one individually.
