HAPPENING NOW 🚨📢🌿 Early this morning a land defender climbed into a giant cedar tree that was set to be cut down later today. A crew snuck undetected past 10km of exclusion zones, patrol cars and police checkpoints to set up this tree sit which now protects the last few ancient cedars in the upper walbran clear cut. Rings on the adjacent stump place these twin cedars around 600 years old. Make that 600 years and 1 day.

There is now a new active tree sit in the upper Walbran Valley. As of last night a total of 26 people have now been arrested trying to prevent continued old growth logging.

DIRECTIONS

From Lake Cowichan head towards Honeymoon Bay. From Honeymoon Bay drive 21 km along S Shore Rd until the road splits, turn left onto Caycuse Main.

Follow Caycuse Main for 11 km until the road splits, then turn left onto McClure Main.

Follow McClure Main until you reach Lake McClure. Continue driving with McClure Lake on your left. Turn right onto M 20 and the camp is about 500 meters up the road.

These are dirt roads, however you do not need four-wheel-drive.
