Sacred Crowns – Adornment with Intention

Discover Sacred Crowns – Adornment with Intention, a unique exhibition by Fort Saskatchewan artist Kerry McKinlay with her daughter, Mercedees Deacon.

Kerry’s collection features one-of-a-kind fedoras that are hand-burnt, hand-painted and hand-embroidered, inspired by art, nature, heritage and spirit. Mercedees adds her own connection to nature and ancestry through a collection of handcrafted jewelry featuring natural elements.

Hear Our Voices: Michel People & Residential Schools opens July 17 at Fort Heritage Precinct.

This multimedia exhibition shares the first-hand effects of the Residential School system as experienced by the Michel Band, through video testimonials and historical information, inviting visitors to listen, learn, and reflect on the intergenerational effects of Canada's residential school system.

I’m excited to share an upcoming display that will ft both mine and my mom’s work! The display is located at the Dow, in Fort Saskatchewan (my home town!) so if you find yourself in the area around these dates.. come take a look (maybe even make a purchase!)

I’m currently working on some items for a display that’s coming up in a few weeks (will post more about it soon) so there will be a small pause in how often I post new items for sale.. but don’t worry!! I’ll be back to the usual uploads soon!
