Oh my goodness!! Time just flies by over here! I’ve stopped and started a post about 15 times since the last one … (many many many days ago). I chicken out because I just don’t feel that I have anything relevant to share. No new pieces.. means no post.
Today I will plow forward!
For the last week or so I’ve been able to spend a little time creating jewelry in my home studio. Prior to this week I’ve been avoiding the space. I’d go downstairs and be completely uninspired.. sit for an hour.. feel sh*tty and head back upstairs.
When a wholesale client reached out to see what I had available it forced me to get downstairs and work through it.
I had some really nice beads that I was able to make into pieces. It felt really good! Trying to use up the many supplies that I have on hand.
It dawned on me that over the last 25+years my jewellery has been mainly defined by the lamp work beads that I make. There was that time that I sojourned to making jewellery with sterling and gemstones. I really liked the pieces I created.. they were intricate, unique and colourful.
Since I’ve been without my own lamp work space I’ve really been struggling to find a creative outlet. I think the path for me for the time being is to clean up the space, create some new and unique pieces with the supplies and ideas that I have and maybe bring back some gemstone magic for the time being.
