Try finding a watermelon tourmaline with one dark side, statement-sized, on a shelf somewhere. You can’t.

Though I didn’t have it sitting in my inventory, I went looking for her.

This is the stone that is once in a lifetime. It’s exactly what she described and more. It even has a middle teal line and a strong pink that stands up to the black side she wanted.

The design isn’t finalized yet. That part comes next, together. But I wanted to share this moment first, because I just couldn’t wait. Opening this package was almost as exciting as I know the finished ring is going to be.

I’ll share the final piece when it’s ready. This one’s worth the wait.

Though I’ve meticulously selected gemstones for you to explore and fall in love with, some of you know exactly what you want before you ever see a stone.

This one started with a vague idea and a Zoom call.

“She’d seen a ring she loved when she was overseas but didn’t buy it. All she could tell me was it was a ring with a pale pink and a pale green stone.” So her husband made it a mission to have one custom-made for her 40th birthday.

Obsessed is also an understatement.

Some kids like dolls, some liked bugs, it was always rocks for me.

In my teen years, it was all about Sailor Moon crystals and Inuyasha Shikon Jewel shards.

As an adult, instead of collecting rocks in a shoebox, I’m sourcing sapphires, tourmalines, and garnets in many variations people are shocked to hear about.

I don’t just collect any gemstone. The colour has to be captivating. The cut needs to bring out its beauty. The clarity doesn’t get past my picky eye.

I used to think milestones were the big obvious ones.
Like the things society tells you to go after and celebrate.

But then life happens, and it forces you to rethink what that’s all even supposed to mean.

And making jewelry ended up being part of that for me.
Instead of waiting for some milestone to “deserve” a piece, I just started making pieces for the moments that actually meant something to me.

Every piece I wear marks a moment I stopped listening to what I can’t or shouldn’t do… and did it anyway.

So now, I believe to my core, that the same checklist doesn’t exist for everyone. These pieces aren’t proof I’m on my way.
They’re proof I’m on my own way.

The wind was doing that thing where you just have to stop and feel it for a second.

I used to think slowing down meant doing nothing. Potato on the couch and binge a C-drama, my favourite lazy girl thing to do.

But turns out, it just meant noticing what’s already there.

Lately, slowing down my “hustle life” meant more time with my family and friends. Truly living the kind of moments you don’t get twice. Just me and them.

In a special way, jewelry ends up carrying that. Not because a person becomes a design, but because a piece remembers what a season of your life was actually about.

When’s the last time a piece of jewelry actually made you feel something?

With mass-produced jewelry, you see it, you like it, maybe you buy it.

That’s not what this is.

She wanted something that held her mom, her daughter, and herself.

Together in one piece.

The three of them are close, really close.

P.S. I got to meet them in person and you can truly feel the love and connection they share. It’s so special. So it was my mission to get this right.

So we created it together.

Yellow or white gold? The mock-up made it easy to see.

She approved the design and then I take care of the rest.

All to create a necklace that if she lost it, it wouldn’t be about the cost.
It would be about what it held.

She’s wearing it now, but she already knows who will wear it one day, her daughter.

Same bond. Three generations.

That’s what jewelry is supposed to feel like.

Not the trendiest thing this season.
