Tansi everyone!
As you may have noticed, over the past many months I have been absent from this page except for one or two posts and stories! I thought I would come on here and give a little life update to explain why.
Last year, in August 2023, I started Medical school at UBC!! This was a lifelong dream of mine and my first year has been so amazing. I’ve included some pics I got from my past year in med! Medical school is no easy feat, and because of that it takes up the majority of my time, along with the extracurriculars I do. This leaves me very little time for beading, and when I do have time I am often not in the right head space for beadwork. Because of this, I did not do much beading over the past almost year now and therefore have been absent from this page. I have however been up to many things as you can see, and have had an amazing year. I’ve made many friends, been a part of many projects, and have met many other Indigenous peoples in medicine and it has been so inspiring.
That being said, I am currently on my summer break and am back at it with my beadwork! I kicked this break off by making my sister wedding earrings 🥹 (post coming soon). This gave me the push I needed to get back into my favourite hobby. I think I’ve got into the swing of med school now, and I truly hope I can make more time for beading once year 2 starts. Hopefully you will see a lot more of me in the coming weeks/months!!
Maarsii for you time and support 🫶🏻
TLDR: I just finished my first year of medical school, I was too busy to bead but now I am in the swing of things and back (hopefully 🤞🏻)
