MEET THE ARTIST:
Growing up, I had a special gift for crafting. In fact, I still remember sitting on the street corner out front of my house with a little table set up selling beaded bracelets that I spent hours making. Never once did it occur to me that years later I would leave my job as a Bill Collector and once again be selling my creations once again for people to enjoy and love as much as I
do making. However, the best part about creating is how much closer it brought me to my family. My husband of 17 seventeen years and three beautiful teenagers have always been my biggest support, so it was no surprise when they chipped in their time and effort to help me. As Flicker 'n Flame grew, I found joy in being able to reconstruct one person's trash into another's treasure. HOW IT STARTED:
Believe it or not, what had begun as a life lesson for my kids turn into this. As a parent, I always aimed to raise my kids to be compassionate and caring, so I wanted to show them that a gift is about the thought and effort put into it and not about how big the price tag is. I wanted them to see that they could make a gift for very little cost that could be enjoyed the same, if not more as that big fancy must have item with the huge price tag attached. I listed a light just for fun on Marketplace and was surprised by the overwhelming demand for them. It was clear that people loved them just as much as I did. Soon, Flicker 'n Flame was started and has since expanded from Liquor Bottle LEDS to Liquor Bottle Lamps and now to Custom Made Liquor Bottle Bongs. HOW IT IS DONE:
Every item is handcrafted from an upcycled liquor bottle in my home workshop. It was very important to me to maintain affordable costs for my customers, while still providing a high quality product. In order to do so, I spend my free time collecting and purchasing empty liquor bottles and have built a workshop at home to craft in. Every bottle is upcycled which helps save the environment by reducing waste and keeping glass out of landfills. My collection is constantly growing. I have over 130 unique liquor bottle choises as well as hundreds more of beer and wine bottle options. Everyone is guaranteed to find something they will love! The upcycled, and handcrafted products sold here have no mutual affiliations, sponsorship’s, or endorsements with the companies who produce, and/or resell original bottles in original form.
