One-of-a-kind jewelry

I’m currently in Japan. I was supposed to be back in Brussels in mid-May, but... my beloved mother was hospitalized with tuberculosis the moment I arrived in Japan, so I’ve had to postpone my return to Brussels for about a month and a half now.
While her condition has stabilized somewhat, I’m not completely at ease, and I might have to extend my stay again from my original planned return date of early July...
It looks like I won’t be able to create any artwork for a while... 🥲

Here’s my latest statement necklace✨💖✨💖

現在日本に滞在中です。本当なら5月半ばにブリュッセルに戻っているはずなんですが…。最愛の母が私の日本到着と同時に結核で入院してしまい、ブリュッセルへ戻るのを延期してかれこれ1ヶ月半。母は少し状態が落ち着いては来たものの、完全に安心とは言えず、もしかしたら帰る予定の7月頭を再度延長するかもしれません…。
作品を作ることはしばらくは無理そうです…🥲

It has been a little while since my last post….
I am currently in Japan, carrying fragments of stories and memories with me🌸

“Lost in the Whispering Garden”
A fawn 🦌 wanders quietly through a garden overflowing with flowers 🌼, fruits 🍐, and hidden fragments of forgotten adornment.
This assemblage piece was created from layered vintage elements:
an Art Deco celluloid buckle, 1950s cellulose acetate flower brooches, a rhinestone pear, two lucite flowers from an 1980s Avon necklace, and a small deer resting among vegetable-shaped ornaments✨✨✨
A small wandering story, suspended between memory and ornament🦌🌼🍐💖

今は日本におり、物語や思い出の断片を胸に抱えています🌸

『Lost in the Whispering Garden』
花々や果実、忘れ去られた装飾の断片に満ちたちた庭を、
一匹の子鹿が静かにさまよう…
アールデコ期のセルロイドバックル、
50年代のセルロース・アセテートのフラワーブローチ🌼、
ラインストーンの洋梨🍐、
80年代Avonのルーサイトフラワー、
そして野菜のオーナメントに紛れる小さな子鹿🦌
ヴィンテージの要素を幾重にも重ねながら制作したアッサンブラージュ作品です✨✨✨
記憶と装飾のあいだに浮かぶ、小さな寓話のような作品🌼🍐🦌💖

New Ear Cuffs💖
I imagined butterflies playing near my ear, drawn to an orchid that’s just slightly open...🦋💐✨
This butterfly is a collector’s item—a hand-painted brooch from the Czech Republic. The color of the rhinestones on its body and the pattern on its wings complement each other perfectly. The 1950s orchid brooch is made of celluloid, and the base is an Art Deco celluloid buckle.
It’s absolutely lovely, but unfortunately, the fact that it’s a bit heavy is a slight drawback😅😅😅
Maybe if I modify the cuff part to hook onto the ear, it might fit better.
The trial and error continues…

新しいイヤカフ💖
ちょっとだけ開いたオーキッドに引き寄せられた蝶々が耳元で戯れる様子を想像しながら・・・🦋💐✨
この蝶々はコレクターズアイテムのチェコのハンドペイントのブローチ。胴体のラインストーンのカラーと羽の模様がイイ感じにマッチしてます。50sのオーキッドブローチはセルロイド、ベースはアールデコのセルロイドバックル。
とっても素敵なんだけど、いかんせんちょっと重いのが玉に瑕😅😅😅
カフの部分を耳に引っ掛けるタイプに変更したらうまく収まるのかも。
試行錯誤は続く・・・

I’ve been incredibly busy, and after a long period of trial and error, quite some time has passed… 😅
During that time I kept searching for new elements and exploring different ideas.
And finally, a new piece has come together ✨✨✨
Since I don’t have pierced ears, I created the earrings as ear cuffs.
This piece imagines a spider enchanted by a flower, quietly spinning its web. 🌺🕷️🕸️
Like the necklace, the composition is built on an Art Deco celluloid buckle.
Vintage cellulose acetate flower earrings and a 1950s spider brooch are set onto a 1940s clear rhinestone brooch, arranged to evoke the delicate structure of a spider’s web

なんだかんだととっても忙しく、そして長い長い試行錯誤の末にこんなに時間が経ってしまいました…😅
その間新しいエレメンツを探したり、アイデアをあれこれ考えて。
とりあえず新しい作品が一つ完成しました✨✨✨
イヤリングは自分がピアスを開けていないのでイヤカフにしてみました。
これはお花に魅入られて蜘蛛の巣をかけた蜘蛛🌺🕷️🕸️
ネックレスと同様にアールデコのセルロイドバックルをベースに50sのセルロースアセテートのフラワーイヤリングと50sのスパイダーブローチを蜘蛛の巣に見立てた40sのクリアラインストーンブローチにセットしています。

Tomorrow marks the opening of Florence Biennale 2025!✨✨✨
The fourth piece to be shown at Florence Biennale 2025 —
l’Été (Summer) unfolds as a celebration of radiance,
a summer garden where time lingers in full bloom🌻🌻🌻
Built upon an Art Deco celluloid buckle,
vintage flowers from the 1940s to the 1960s intertwine —
a sunflower in acetate, a black enamel blossom,
a silver petal, a glimmer of rhinestones,
and a tiny ladybug resting in the light🐞🐞🐞
Each fragment carries a whisper of warmth,
a trace of days suspended between brilliance and stillness.
A fleeting eternity of summer, held within a moment….✨✨✨
