The Belgian artist Salima Thakker illustrates fine and delicate craftsmanship. Some of her pieces include aquisitions by international musea.

By proceeding directly from material, experimenting and making large numbers of samples, ST has already created several collections of intriguing pieces. Their ingenuity only becoming clear the moment they are worn and follow the movement of body, arm or hand. The diversity of techniques she uses to translate her ideas, give life to her jewelry. Unit constructions, elemental actions, deforming and

distorting are some of her means to add vitality and tension to her work. Where some pieces are tactile and rough, others are dynamic, soft and more approachable. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Antwerp and the Royal College of Art, London, she is exhibiting her jewellery at exclusive galleries across Europe and North America, including some of the world's most prestigious fairs and salons. A different kind of catch of the day.

Inspired by the treasures shaped by the sea, this piece captures the beauty of unexpected forms, deep colours and natural textures. This Catch of the Day ring features a luminous, dark-toned pearl embraced by organic, tentacle-like forms. Crafted in 18K white gold and finished with a vivid green coating.

A pearl carries its own story.

In the atelier, these baroque freshwater pearls were transformed into sculptural earrings for the Catch of the Day collection, guided by their natural shape rather than altered. Some pieces remain pure and sculptural, while others become a canvas for Pablo’s signature hand-painted details, creating a dialogue between jewellery and art.

A collection built around the beauty of what cannot be repeated.

Some pieces begin with a sketch. This one began with the discovery of an exceptional craft.

For the Catch of the Day chokers, and I travelled to Paris to work closely with House of Verrier Passementerie. In their ateliers, we found the delicate silk cords form the foundation the foundation of the Catch of the Day chokers. Transformed into jewellery, they evoke a tactile connection to the sea. Available with or without diamonds.

On the menu today: a sculptural ring with a luminous pearl held by flowing, coral-like forms in 18K gold.

Launching the Catch by the Sea Collection, a project deeply personal to me, shaped by the sea, months of research, and the joy of creating alongside incredible people.

And just like a real catch of the day, this collection won’t arrive all at once. Expect small drops throughout the season, each one worth waiting for.

A sketch, a painting, a gemstone, a hand-tied detail. This collection started with a conversation between the artist Pablo Piatti and jeweller Salima Thakker.

Inspired by morning walks along the Belgian coast, beach finds, and the quiet rhythm of the sea, artist Pablo Piatti created a series of miniature paintings. Salima translated them into wearable jewellery, each one becoming the starting point for a wearable work of art.

This capsule collection brings together gemstones, pearls and the craftsmanship of the House Verrier Passementerie. Piatti’s miniature paintings transform each jewel into a poetic canvas, playing with the mistery of underwater life and the rythm of the sea.

The first catch is ready to be discovered. Join us on July 16 for the unveiling of Catch of the Day at our Knokke store, Duindistelstraat 12.

Couture 2026 is over. And our hearts are full.
A week of creativity, craftsmanship, and connection in Las Vegas that reminded us why this industry is so special. From bold design visions to meaningful conversations, truly inspiring from start to finish. Grateful for every meeting, every exchange, and every moment.
