Ending the month with something new – The E&O Journal

This March, I set the intention to build a more personal connection with you. So I’ve rethought our newsletters and would love to begin each month with a ritual I keep dearly myself.

Each month, I open my journal, brew a tasty filter coffee — I haven’t taken to matcha quite yet — put on a song that softens my heart, and often begin with a few minutes (or, if I’m really motivated, up to an hour) of breathwork to truly arrive.

Then I reflect on what I want the coming month to bring and write down everything that comes to mind, without overthinking — sssst, lizard brain.
And here’s the catch: the goal is to listen to the whispers of your heart more than the roars of your mind. Golden dreams are buried under that blazing dust.
To help you settle into it, I have prepared a guiding monthly introspection prompt.

In this simple way, you give yourself permission to pause, to ground, and to notice where you are on your personal journey this year. If you keep your reflections somewhere you can return to, something magical happens: by the end of the year, you will be able to trace your own evolution. Your courage. Your softness. Your growth.

Page after page, you will see the person you are becoming.

Last year I escaped for a few quiet days to a place called Eremito in Italy.

Stone walls. Silence. Long walks in nature.
One morning I accidentally crashed a yoga retreat hosted by Anna and her friend. I joined the class, moving from one downward facing dog to the next, and the only thing I could think was: Wow… that yoga teacher is a true natural beauty.
Not the kind you see everywhere. The kind that comes from living, growing, and aging gracefully.

After the class we sat by the fireplace drinking spiced apple tea and started talking.

She told me:
“I’m going to Cape Town in January. It will be my first time back in 20 years.” I smiled. Because I happened to be going to Cape Town at that exact same time.

To shoot a new story about something I deeply believe in:
the beauty of aging.

And at that moment… I didn’t even have a model yet.
Sometimes life writes stories better than we ever could.
The rest is history.
