১৪৪৬ হিজরী শুরু হয়েছে। আর হিজরী বৎসরের শুরু হয় মুহাররাম মাস দিয়ে। মুহাররাম হলো ৪টি হারাম মাসের একটি। হারাম মাসগুলোতে যুদ্ধ-বিগ্রহ নিষেধ। মুহাররাম মাসকে যেহেতু হাদীসে ‘আল্লাহর মাস’ বলা হয়েছে তাই আমাদের উচিত এ মাসকে সম্মান করা।
ফজিলতের দিক দিয়েও মাসটি অনন্য। একে তো এটি আল্লাহর মাস, পাশাপাশি এ মাসটিতে রয়েছে আশুরার দিন— ১০ই মুহাররাম; যেদিন সিয়াম পালন করলে গত এক বছরের পাপ ক্ষমা করা হয়। পাশাপাশি এ মাসকে ঘিরে রয়েছে কিছু বিদ’আত। সে বিষয়েও আমাদের সতর্ক থাকতে হবে।
