Originally Lab Created Diamonds have been called Synthetic Diamond by GIA and only recently after 2017 they have been renamed to be referred to by public as Lab Created Diamonds. Both names are correct in my opinion because they both state how it’s made, in a lab a synthetic counterpart of the natural. however! Due to misunderstanding by general public, and to reduce confusion, as lots of people use the term “FAKE” for anything that’s synthetic. (Even though that’s incorrect to call something “Fake”, anything tangible is real. If you can touch it, it’s real, just perhaps something else, imitation perhaps! Glass or plastic, or synthetic diamond! As long as the material is disclosed correctly to you as the buyer.
Therefore Manufacturing company of lab created diamonds has made the call to name their created diamonds as Lab Created or lab made diamonds.
Either way synthetic or lab created, whatever you call same item is grown in a laboratory over a month time in a crucible, either CVD method or HPHT method.
Whereas Natural diamonds take billions of years to grow, extracted by humans and hold value as they are a natural material created by Mother Nature.
Natural diamonds will have cool natural inclusions and blemishes (some will have Trigons! Like triangles left on their girdles!) I’ll try to find an example to show.
