Fruit nets inspired the first series, realising what a shame it is to throw away such great coloured material. Going through my treasure box of beads, ribbons, threads n what not, such nacks where threaded and added to create Mancika Designs. All materials used are recycled, either from tins, old wrapping decorations, 2nd hand jewelry, plastic bags, rags etc. Never are two of the same made, however colour preferences can be given to create a tailored piece.

I’ve had the pleasure to repair jewelry over 3 workshops now at in Sydney and have met amazing women who shared their family stories with me, often bringing in pieces, which had belonged to their mother, grandmother or given to them by their daughters.

Jewelry has held great spiritual value since the dawn of mankind, been given and cherished as tokens of deep love, devotion and keepsakes.

To this day, family bonds are strengthened through the passing down of pieces, carrying history and maintaining connection through generations.

I myself wear necklaces from both my grandmothers and look forward to passing them on to my grandchildren 💞

Let us worship the feminine energy which mothers and nourishes our world🕊️
