Our Butterfly ring was inspired by the ancient story of Psyche, whose name translates to butterfly in Greek. Her story is one of endurance and strength, passing trials to eventually find her way back to her love, Eros.

The story of the Edelweiss flower goes back to the 19th century, where European tales told of lovers scaling high mountain tops to gather the rare flower.

Those who returned came back with the flower for their sweethearts held the ultimate symbol of everlasting love and devotion.

It was a story that I adored, thinking back at a simpler time where a tiny flower could hold so much meaning and how romantic it must've been to receive.

When I first began wax sculpting, I had my eyes on crafting the Edelweiss to capture the essence of this story in a wearable form.

In Roman lore, wearing a serpent alongside fruit was a tribute to Ceres, the goddess of harvest. Women wore jewellery as amulets featuring snakes as they believed it was a way to protect their energy and ward off evil.

Our Strawberry serpent earrings take inspiration from ancient tales where serpents also symbolised rebirth and renewal and strawberries, the sweetness of life.

🌙 Love you to the moon and back ring. The piece I crafted for my wedding day ✨

Over the last week, I've been following the Artemis II mission to fly around the moon. I know many of you also follow astrology and all things related to the moon, the sun and the stars so it has special meaning to you too. 

Here's a little peek into my wedding day and how I chose to honor the moon. 

It started when I found Howlite, a gemstone, milky white with gentle grey swirling lines. Immediately, it reminded me of a mini version of the moon. As I was planning our wedding, it gave me the idea to create a special piece of jewellery.

So I set out metalsmithing - soldering wire, forming a bezel, and sawing a heart from a metal sheet to anchor the stone.

I made this ring as a symbol of the endless wonder, beauty and depth of one's love that reaches beyond the earth's atmosphere.
