INTERNATIONAL WOMENβS DAY π
I celebrated yesterday, photographically undocumented, at a conversation between Drusilla Modjeska and Julie Ewington on Women. In Art at , followed by bookshopping and lunch with my 15 year old daughter.
I watch my daughter with her friends, and see the way they move through the world and I learn more about her and about myself. The future is in good hands. Hands that are strong willed and on the right side of history.
An artwork mentioned in the gallery conversation was a sculpture by Australian Artist, Julie Rrap, SOMOS. Standing On My Own Shoulders. And so, here I am... standing on the shoulders of that tiny little pink jumpered, preschool aged Erin. On all of the knowledge she gained, the love she showed, the friendships she nurtured. I am so proud of what that little girl went on to achieve, and excited for all that is yet to come.
Standing on my own shoulders, on the shoulders of all of the incredible women before me, and proudly side by side with the women in my life as we step into our futures.
