I loved making this ring for this beautiful woman. I felt like I could’ve chatted to her for days when she first visited the studio. Once I’d finished her engagement ring, I met her fiancé too and he was just as lovely.
If you can imagine this gorgeous ring, vivid green, being worn by a gorgeous Irish girl with show-stopping fiery 🔥 red hair… it looked like it was made just for her… oh hang on…It was!

Following on from my previous reel, THIS is the result 🔥

If you saw the reel, you’d know that I said I’d make this differently if I had the freedom to, but I didn’t. I’m such a perfectionist (or control freak - you decide) that I obsess over every detail of every ring I make, so of course I found this ring challenging, but I love it. It’s the perfect contrast to her classically beautiful diamond engagement and wedding ring set that I made years ago.

I don’t usually do this.

Working with customers own gems isn’t something I take on lightly and if you’ve had a ‘no’ from me before, please don’t take it personally, I just find this really challenging.
In this reel, I’ll try to explain.

It was actually a pleasure to make this beautiful ring for this very special customer.
She already wears a Bert engagement ring and wedding ring, so I love that adorning her right hand is this unique ring.

I mostly make engagement rings. Apparently that week I made milestone rings instead.

If you saw Amber‘s ring a few days ago, meet the second 50th birthday ring I made within the same week. This time, for Donna. A peach radiant-cut sapphire with a cluster of peachy pink sapphires and diamonds alongside it. Different style, same happy jewellery.

Years before, Brett and I had come up with her engagement and wedding ring and I was thrilled to hear from him again (what an absolute legend btw) saying he’d love to have a third ring made to celebrate wonderful Amber, for her 50th birthday.
We had an initial chat, he secretly told me the budget and then he handed the design reins over to Amber.
She was so excited to have this milestone ring made and shared with me her likes (and dislikes). She explained that she loves the earthy, sandy tones of champagne diamonds, and the soft blush of peach and pink sapphires. She was drawn to a ‘toi et moi’ style, two stones sitting side by side, and I emailed her videos of various gems that I think fit the description.

She settled on this geometric blush sapphire and a pear shaped champagne diamond, leaning toward each other in rose gold.
I wasn’t sure how I would make these two sit together, but after sketching ideas back and forth and discussing settings, I think the result is stunning and completely unique.
Both gems are set in my signature semi-bezel style and the ring somehow reminds me of Brett & Amber, happily ever after, leaning in together to watch the sunrise.

Happy birthday Amber. I love imagining you wearing all three of your Bert rings 💕
