I’ve always liked the way jewellery changes once you start wearing it.

At first, you notice everything about it. The weight. The shape. The way it sits. Then, somewhere along the way, you stop noticing quite so much. You simply put it on.

It begins to pick up the small marks that come from being worn. It becomes familiar. And eventually, it’s difficult to remember what it felt like before it was yours.

I think that’s when jewellery becomes most interesting. Not when it’s perfectly new, but when it has started to become part of someone’s life.

For anyone following along...
This was beach number 33. Mollymook.

The water was 16°C and, if I’m honest, I wasn’t convinced I was getting in. My internal dialogue: Absolutely not.

A year ago, I probably wouldn’t have, but apparently a year of ice baths has changed my relationship with cold water.

After this swim, we drove around to Nunnawallee and somehow talked myself into doing it all again.

Which means I’m now up to 34 beaches.
Just 16 more to go before September 22.
