✨Introducing Entwined – Bespoke Gemstone Pendants✨

I'm excited to finally introduce something I've been working on!

My dual-gemstone Hourglass pendants have been quite popular, and I've wanted to take the concept a little further by offering something more personal.

💕 Entwined is your opportunity to choose two gemstones and have them brought together in a pendant created especially for you.

Perhaps two birthstones representing loved ones, gemstones with special meaning, or simply two colours you adore.

Using my signature Hourglass design, I'll individually wrap and weave your chosen gemstones into a unique piece of jewellery. No two will ever be exactly alike!

✨ Copper – from $129, including a pure copper chain
✨ Silver-filled – from $139, including a sterling silver chain

I have a lovely selection of gemstones available, with the option of sourcing something special if required.

🌧️ A little market update!

Unfortunately, I’ve made the difficult decision not to attend Cotton Tree Markets tomorrow.

After more than 175mm of rain this week, and with further heavy rain forecast for Sunday, the risk of damage to my handmade jewellery, displays and packaging is simply too great.

As much as I love getting out to the markets, setting up and packing down in potentially torrential rain isn’t something I’m prepared to risk!

💕 I’ll be back at Cotton Tree on Sunday 1 November, followed by Caloundra Street Fair on 8 November.

Home again! 🏡💚

What an incredible eight days exploring South Australia and Victoria!

We’ve seen some absolutely spectacular scenery, from the beautiful limestone coastline around Robe to the stunning Great Ocean Road, waterfalls, forests and everything in between.

I’ve come home with hundreds of photos, a little collection of sea glass and shells, and SO many ideas for new jewellery! 🤭

The weather back on the Sunshine Coast is a rather wet contrast to the sunshine we’ve enjoyed all week, so it’s the perfect excuse to get back to my workbench!

I’ve already been putting the finishing touches on a couple of pieces inspired by our travels, including this rather special fossil pendant.

Lots of new creations coming to Traced in Stone over the next few weeks. I can’t wait to bring some of these ideas to life!

🎉🎂 Traced in Stone is ONE today! 🎂🎉

Well, that year went so quickly!

A year ago today, I said goodbye to AromaBeadBoutique and introduced Traced in Stone. I knew I wanted to take my jewellery in a different direction, but wasn’t entirely sure where it would lead!

What a year it’s been! I’ve experimented with new designs, learnt new techniques, spent countless hours wrapping and weaving wire (and occasionally pulling it all apart 🤣), and developed a bit of an obsession with beautiful gemstones.

And then there are the gemshows! 😂 Apparently there’s no such thing as having too many stones!

I’ve ventured into the world of markets, opened my Madeit store, met some wonderful people and learnt so much along the way.

One of the best parts has been seeing people connect with my jewellery, whether it’s the stone, the design or simply the fact that I’ve done all that wirework myself!

A huge thank you to everyone who’s supported my little business, whether you’ve purchased something, stopped for a chat, followed my page or shared a post. I really do appreciate it. ❤️

And with plenty of ideas and an ever-growing collection of stones waiting to be wrapped, there’s lots more to come!

Day 6 – Apollo Bay to Lorne

Another fabulous day yesterday!

Left Apollo Bay and headed towards Lorne, with some gorgeous scenery along the way.

Stopped at Kennett River hoping to spot a koala, but no luck! We did see a beautiful king parrot, some ducks and some enormous old gum trees. 🦜

Next was Sheoak Falls. A lovely walk through the bush and a welcome drop in temperature!

Then on to Lorne and Teddy’s Lookout. The views were spectacular. Brilliant blue ocean and winding coastline on one side, rolling green hills and forest on the other. Definitely a highlight!

We also stopped at the Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch and Split Point Lighthouse at Aireys Inlet.

Today we’re making our way towards Melbourne, with a few stops along the way. Flying home tomorrow, and while we’ve had an amazing time, I’m looking forward to getting back to my stones and wire! 😂💚

Relaxing this afternoon and wrapped this - this is the extraordinary fossil I shared a few weeks ago, it arrived and I brought it along on our trip!!

Not quite finished - I’m thinking a couple of tweaks here and there, a good oxidation and polish and she’ll be finished!

Seemed appropriate to wrap her on the Ocean Rd trip!

Road Trip – Day 5! 🚗☀️

Warrnambool to Apollo Bay yesterday, exploring the spectacular Great Ocean Road!

Started with a quick wander around the Lake Pertobe market, then grabbed a coffee and hit the road!

Bay of Islands, Bay of Martyrs, The Grotto and London Bridge — WOW! The limestone formations, rugged coastline and colours of the water were just incredible!

Then on to Loch Ard Gorge, hands down my favourite stop of the day! The Razorback, shipwreck history and those amazing patterns in the limestone. Absolutely breathtaking! 😍

The Twelve Apostles were beautiful too, although I wasn’t a fan of the enormous new visitor precinct. So much concrete in such a spectacular natural setting, which I found a bit disappointing.

Finished the day in Apollo Bay with a wander around the marina, where we spotted an absolutely enormous stingray swimming through the shallows! 😲

It was a fantastic day! So much beautiful scenery, nature really is spectacular!

Road Trip – Day 4! 🚗☀️

Robe to Warrnambool today, with plenty of stops along the way!

First up was Mount Gambier’s Blue Lake, and yes, it really was blue! 💙 Absolutely beautiful.

Then across the border into Victoria, where we were greeted by a lone sheep running towards us down the middle of the road! 😂🐑 Thankfully it made it safely off the road.

Next stop was Port Fairy. What a gorgeous little town! Had a wander around the shops, a car boot picnic lunch, then explored the spectacular coastline around Griffiths Island. The black volcanic rocks, contrasting rusty-orange lichen and turquoise water were incredible.

Then on to Warrnambool, where we discovered Stingray Bay. WOW! 😍 Absolutely stunning rock formations, beautiful clear water and even managed a paddle through the shallows.

Checked into our hotel and finished the afternoon wandering around town. Found the ‘Warrny’, which will be tonight’s dinner spot! 🍻

Another fantastic day, and so many beautiful places! Tomorrow we’re off to explore the Great Ocean Road and the Twelve Apostles, with a little market browsing first.

My inspiration list is overflowing — now I just have to bring all these ideas to life. How exciting! 💚

SA Road Trip – Days 2 & 3! 🚗☀️

A bit behind with the updates, too busy exploring! 😂

Day 2 – Adelaide to Robe

An unexpected ferry crossing, a couple of pink lakes (one that wasn’t very pink and absolutely stank! 🤢), an echidna crossing the highway and even camels in a paddock!

Arrived in Robe and WOW! What a beautiful place! The colour of the ocean is just incredible. 💙 Spent the afternoon exploring the spectacular coastline, sea caves and rock formations. So much inspiration, including one spot that’s already inspired a jewellery design I’m calling Rocky Gorge!

Day 3 – Robe & Beachport

Started the morning hunting for sea glass at Factory Bay. Well, that was a success! 😂 Came away with a selection of beautiful sea glass, some interesting shells and a few other little treasures. Already thinking about what I can make with them! 🤭

Then off to Beachport for a walk along the jetty and a stop at the impressive Woakwine Cutting.

South Australia has been absolutely beautiful so far! Tomorrow we’re off to Mount Gambier and then into Victoria.

☀️ Day 1 – Adelaide to Victor Harbor! 🚗

First full day of our holiday!

Started the morning with a wander around Adelaide, coffee and a few supplies for the road trip. Beautiful sunshine but absolutely freezing compared to Queensland! 🥶

Picked up the hire car and headed to Hahndorf for a look around. Lots of lovely little artisan shops, galleries and of course a few opal shops! 💎 Didn’t buy any stones though, they were a bit pricey! 😂

Stopped at the German Arms for a traditional German lunch before heading down to Victor Harbor, where we had a wander around Granite Island.

Now settled into our hotel with a well-earned drink and my sketchbook out!

I did pack a selection of stones and some wire-wrapping supplies, just in case inspiration strikes. 🤭

Tonight I’m playing around with a design for this Queensland boulder opal. It’s been sitting in my collection waiting for the right idea. Not sure where it’s going yet, but that’s the fun of creating!

Tomorrow we’re off to Robe, taking the scenic coastal route. 🌊💚
