Remember this one?

I shared this little behind-the-scenes video when I was making it… and last weekend at Peregian, it found its keeper. 🥰

There’s something pretty special about looking back and watching a piece come together once I know it’s now out there being worn and loved by someone else.

From my bench to its new keeper.

More than just a stone …

I think this might be one of the best descriptions I’ve ever read of why I love creating with stone.

I’m never just looking at the stone itself. I’m looking for the landscape, the movement, the colours, the little details — the story that’s already there.

And then I wrap it.

“The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.”

What a morning at Peregian Beach Markets!

After the weather cancelled my last attempt, I finally made it to Peregian today — and it was definitely worth the wait!

The sun was shining - 11 pendants found new homes today, along with bracelets and earrings. One couple bought two pendants, came back for a third and swapped one of their original choices for another. I think choosing was proving difficult. 😂

The labradorites got plenty of attention (no surprises there!) and Silent Flame, my Ethiopian Opal, got lots of love and came very close to finding her new keeper a couple of times — but she’s coming home with me.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped for a look, had a chat, tried something on or bought a piece. It was such a lovely morning and a fantastic first day for Traced in Stone at Peregian. 💚

I think we’ll be back! 😂

Fresh off the Bench!!!!

Two new one-of-a-kind pieces have made it off my bench today — Emerald Pools and Peony Blush.

💚 Emerald Pools features a beautiful piece of natural Malachite, with bands of green that reminded me of deep pools and rippling water.

🌸 Peony Blush is natural Rhodochrosite, with the most unusual pale patterns spreading through the soft pink stone — they reminded me of the ruffled petals of a peony in bloom.

Both have been wrapped by hand in copper, then oxidised and polished to bring out all that lovely detail in the wirework.

They’re available now in my Madeit store, if they’re not sold before Sunday, they’ll be coming along to Peregian Beach Markets!

Two very different stones. Two completely one-of-a-kind pieces.

I love them both - Emerald Pools 💚 and Peony Blush 🌸

I’m FINALLY heading to Peregian Beach Markets this Sunday!

After the weather had other ideas and my last Peregian market was cancelled, I’m finally getting there! 😂🤞

This Sunday I’ll be bringing Traced in Stone to Peregian for the first time, with a big selection of my one-of-a-kind hand-wrapped pendants, keepsakes, earrings, bracelets and plenty of new pieces making their market debut.

And hopefully this time the weather behaves itself - it’s forecast to be a fabulous day☀️

📍 Peregian Beach Markets, Kingfisher Drive, Peregian Beach

🌸 A pinch and a punch for the first of the month!

White rabbit, white rabbit, white rabbit! 🐇🐇🐇

And just like that… it’s September and the first day of spring. 🌱🌸

There’s something lovely about seeing those first little signs of spring appearing — a flower pushing through, new leaves, longer days and the promise of warmer weather to come.

Apparently the pinch and punch AND the white rabbits are both supposed to bring good luck, so I’m covering all bases. 🤣

And while we’re celebrating a new month and a new season, I feel like a beautiful pendant is entirely justified too. 😉

Amity seemed rather appropriate for the occasion! Her link is in the comments 💕

Happy first day of spring!

Tell me — who else still does the pinch and punch or white rabbit thing on the first of the month - Is it just me?

Yesterday at Cotton Tree, Gondwana Canopy & Emerald Bloom both found their new home — with the same keeper! 💚

I absolutely love it when someone is drawn to a piece I’ve made, but when they can’t choose between two and decide they’re taking both… well, that’s pretty special. 🥰

Gondwana Canopy was part of my Australiana collection and Emerald Bloom was one of those pieces where the stone really did all the talking.

Two very different stones. Two very different pieces. Both made by hand in copper.

And now they’re off together!

Thank you to their new keeper for choosing two pieces made by my hands. I hope you love wearing them as much as I loved making them.

Sometimes I think the finished piece makes it all look a bit too easy 😂

A stone doesn’t arrive here looking like a Traced in Stone pendant.

There’s choosing the stone, deciding which wire suits it, changing my mind halfway through, undoing something I don’t like, occasionally muttering (or swearing 😂) at it… and then finally getting to that moment where I think — yep. That’s the one.

No two ever turn out exactly the same.

And I think that’s probably my favourite part of making them.

They’re not supposed to. ❤️
