September… seriously, how did we get here already?
At Kul Kul, we’re welcoming new suppliers, discovering lots of beautiful new pieces and - dare I say it - getting our Christmas plans underway. We’re also beginning the search for a new team member, so there’s plenty happening behind the scenes.
Speaking of behind the scenes, we finally have a new roof! After years of strategically placed buckets every winter, having a warm, dry shop has felt like quite the luxury 😂
One of the loveliest moments this month was handing over a wedding ring I’ve been working on with a client. Being trusted with something so personal is incredibly special, and I can’t wait to share a little more with you soon.
It’s also been wonderful watching Subiaco come alive again - busy footpaths, full cafés and restaurants, and everyone emerging from their winter hibernation.
The reality is that running a small business is becoming increasingly challenging. Costs continue to rise, and some days it does feel a little daunting. Small businesses bring personality, connection and life to our neighbourhoods, but we can only continue with the support of our communities.
So yes, you’ve heard me say it before - please shop local first whenever you can. Every purchase, visit, recommendation and share genuinely makes a difference.
