This is me ✨

When I’m not at the markets sweating through 35-degree heat, hanging onto the gazebo in the wind, dodging sideways rain or questioning every life decision while setting up before sunrise…this is usually where you’ll find me.

In the shed.

Apron on. Machines running. Covered in opal dust and happily disappearing into my own little world.

This is the part of Jewel Frequencies most people don’t get to see.

Before those beautiful Australian opals make it onto my market table, they start here … as rough stone, full of possibility and absolutely no instructions.

I study them. Cut them. Grind them. Shape them. Polish them. Change my mind. Look at them from seventeen different angles, ask some legendary miners/rock lovers for advice … and occasionally have a stern conversation with a rock that isn’t cooperating! 💪🏼✨

Because you don’t really tell an opal what it’s going to become.

You uncover it.

Every fraction of a millimetre can reveal something completely different, and part of the skill is knowing when to keep going…and when to STOP touching the bloody thing.

There’s patience, precision and intuition involved. There’s also opal dust, noisy machinery, spectacular discoveries and the occasional colourful word.

And I genuinely love it.

Every opal you see at Jewel Frequencies has passed through my hands! From rough stone, through the machines, to the jewellery bench and eventually out into the world.

No mass production. No two exactly alike. Just millions of years of Australian geology, a slightly opal-obsessed woman in a shed, and a whole lot of work in between. ✨

So this is me.

The slightly dusty, occasionally sweaty, very happy human behind Jewel Frequencies.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way!

✨ O P A L ✨ THE ULTIMATE INVESTMENT ✨

Australian opal is more than something beautiful to wear. It is a finite natural resource formed over millions of years, found in remarkably few places on Earth, and impossible to manufacture or reproduce in the way nature created it.

Unlike mass-produced luxury, every natural opal is inherently unique. No two stones carry exactly the same colour, pattern, formation or character and once a particular stone is sold, there simply isn’t another identical one waiting to replace it.

Australia produces some of the world’s most highly regarded opal, yet quality material is becoming increasingly difficult to source. Exceptional stones, particularly those displaying strong colour, brightness, pattern and rarity; can command significant prices, with certain fine opals achieving values per carat exceeding those of some diamonds.

That distinction matters.

Opal is a tangible asset: something physical you can own, wear, preserve and pass from one generation to the next. Its value is determined by rarity and quality rather than mass production, and the supply of naturally occurring Australian opal cannot simply be increased to meet demand.

At Jewel Frequencies, we believe jewellery can hold more than aesthetic value.

Our Australian opals are individually selected, cut and polished by hand, then transformed into one-of-a-kind pieces designed to honour the stone rather than standardise it.

Australian sourced. Handmade with intention. Frequency imprinted. One of a kind.

Because true luxury isn’t about owning what everyone else can buy.

It’s about owning something nature can never make exactly the same way again.

Value you can wear. Wealth you can hand down.

There’s something incredibly powerful about choosing to support the people, skills and businesses within our own communities 🫶🏻✨

This post isn’t about telling anyone where they should spend their money…it’s about encouraging all of us to be a little more curious and informed about where the things we buy actually come from.

Behind genuine Australian handmade products are real people. Makers, artists, designers, miners, cutters, suppliers, market organisers, small retailers and families…all contributing to an ecosystem that keeps skills, creativity and money circulating within our communities.

And this is bigger than any one small business.

When we choose Australian-made and genuinely handmade where we can, we collectively help create demand for local skills, support employment, encourage ethical production and give independent businesses the opportunity to continue doing what they do.

It’s also perfectly okay to ask questions before purchasing jewellery:

Where was it made?
Who made it?
What materials were used?
Where were the stones sourced?
Is it genuinely handmade, or was it imported and resold?

Those conversations aren’t about judging businesses or consumers. They’re about transparency, education and giving people the information to make choices that align with their own values.

At Jewel Frequencies, we’re proud to be one small part of a much bigger Australian community of makers and small businesses who genuinely care about their craft and the people who support it.

Every thoughtful purchase creates a ripple.

So whether you’re supporting a jeweller, ceramicist, farmer, artist, designer, market stallholder or another local business…thank you.

Thank you for asking questions.
Thank you for valuing craftsmanship.
Thank you for supporting Australian skills and Australian communities.
And most importantly, thank you for being part of the conversation.

None of us build a stronger local economy alone. We build it together. 🇦🇺🤍
