Happy 10th birthday to Marmalade Gardens! Time to get a bit sentimental on my thoughts today :,)

(Pictured above is my 10 year release, the missy moo charm, collaged onto a family photo where I’m dressed as tinker-bell lol)

I remember picking out my business name and making this Instagram account on April 14 2016. I was in year 12, ready to finish school but unsure what I wanted to do next (classic). I’m so glad I put myself out there despite the fear of opening up your work to the world, especially as a teen, and how people would perceive it.

I’m proud of little Marnie, the one who drew (probably thousands) of fairies and made silly home videos, teenage Marnie who decided one day to start a business, and 28 year old Marnie who has continued to create, evolve and learn each day.
I feel like mg has had so many lives over the past 10 years and got me through a lot, uni, a pandemic, loss, failure, self growth, many beautiful moments in-between. It’s been one of the things I’ve been able to hold onto during the uncertainty. Which rings true at the present moment.

So thank you for being here, thank you for reading. Thank you for consuming my art, and art made by other humans 🧚‍♂️

Introducing the missy moo charm 🧚🏽‍♂️ designed by my childhood self, made by my adult self 🧚🏽‍♂️ available in charm or ring form on my web-site 🧚🏽‍♂️

The missy moo design comes from a drawing I found recently that I did when I was 5. It was a grey lead drawing on scrap paper, of a group of fairies, and recently I replicated one of those fairies in wax, after many hours I was happy with the resemblance of the original, and had it casted in silver.
I think little marnie would proud, that she’s still making art and putting it out into the world.
