Ring for Matthew IX & Ring for David II • The wondrous couple Matthew D Bird & David Hallberg had an adventure in Mexico recently and acquired two beautiful, amorphous Mexican fire opals. When they returned they asked me to make them a pair of matching rings as a memento of their trip. This is the second pair of rings I have make for them ♥️♥️ and the ninth ring I have made for Matthew. One of the photos includes of all nine rings I have made for Matt nested into the extraordinary custom made timber jewellery box (made particularly to house the pieces I have made for Matt over the years) hand crafted by the brilliant Vaughan Howard Architects • All of the rings contain significant and unusual keepsakes from Matts’s various adventures over the years • including a baroque pearl from Broome, a crocodiles toenail from Darwin, a meteorite from Russia, a tourmaline from Brazil, a mineral infused pebble from Lanzarote and the eyes of his childhood teddy to name a few • I love these projects so much and feel so honoured to be a part of this beautiful collaboration 🥰😊
