Done with the chooks for the day.

Note to self: wear rubber gloves when scrubbing wire in vinegar and salt with a steelo.

Getting my nails done in a week or so, should be interesting, seeing what they can do with these grubby digits.

Been trying, unsuccessfully for the last few months to make some Garden Art Chooks.
Seems the wire gods are playing nicely today … I think mumma and her chick look somewhat “chickenish” ??
Unlike one of the many rejects from yesterday, that looks a little bit like a seagull.

Gotta say, playing with dirty, recycled copper wire can be a little bit grubby.

Wildkraft Apothecary is hosting a free information evening on Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

Wildkraft Apothecary is hosting a free information evening on Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

💨 Want to know more about Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

What exactly is hyperbaric oxygen therapy, where did it come from, and what’s the difference between the mild HBOT available in wellness settings and the medical hyperbaric oxygen therapy used in hospitals?

Now that we’re starting to take appointments for HBOT sessions, we thought it was the perfect time to hold a FREE information evening with Greg Walker — giving our customers the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating world of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and, of course, ask plenty of questions. 😊

Greg brings a particularly interesting perspective to the evening. As a Navy SEAL and hyperbaric submarine pilot in the 1980s, he was involved in early hyperbaric work before later becoming involved in hyperbaric medical research at The Alfred Hospital.

During the evening, Greg will share more about:
🌿 The history of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and its use in Australia
🌿 How hyperbaric oxygen therapy works
🌿 The differences between mild HBOT and medical HBOT
🌿 Some of the ways HBOT is currently used and researched
🌿 How mild HBOT may fit into an individual’s broader wellness journey
🌿 Plus plenty of opportunity to ask questions!

📅 Thursday 1st October | 6pm
📍 Wildkraft Apothecary, Bruthen
🎟️ FREE information session

Whether you’re completely new to HBOT or you’ve been curious about trying it yourself, you’re more than welcome to come along for a relaxed and informative evening and learn more.

💚 Bookings are essential and numbers are limited, so let us know below or get in touch with the shop if you’d like to attend.

Grab some friends and come along to opening night Friday 2nd October at the Orbost Arts Centre.
All proceeds from donated art goes to Peter Mac foundation.
It’s not too late to donate some artwork for this worthy cause.

Only two weeks left to find those special pieces and get them into the Orbost Arts Centre for the Peter Mac Painting Project! 🎨🤎
Artists, creators, makers and crafty souls — dig through your studio, finish that piece you’ve been working on, or create something especially for the cause. Every donated artwork helps us raise funds for Peter Mac and the incredible work they do.
📣 All donated pieces need to be received during the week before the exhibition, from Friday 25th September.
We’d love to see this exhibition absolutely overflowing with artwork from our community, so rally the troops! Tag your creative friends, share this post and help us spread the word.

Just putting this out there, it’s not too late to donate a piece you’ve had stashed, just waiting for the right home.

Whether you’re an established artist, a hobby artist, a photographer, potter, sculptor, textile artist, illustrator or creative maker — contact Amber at ECHOS of the Wild East Event Production, if you have created something you would like to donate for this worthy cause.

Will post a photo of what I’m donating soon.

🎨 CALLING ALL ARTISTS — WE’D LOVE YOUR SUPPORT 🎨

https://www.facebook.com/share/19PehEHQDG/

The Peter Mac Painting Project is coming to the Orbost Arts Centre this October, and we’re inviting artists of all mediums, styles and experience levels to donate a piece of artwork to help us raise much-needed funds for Peter Mac.

And your piece doesn’t need to be something you’ve freshly created.

Maybe you have a painting tucked away in the studio, a photograph you’re proud of, a ceramic piece waiting for the right home, or something hanging on the wall that feels ready to begin its next chapter. ❤️

Every donated artwork will become part of this special exhibition, with all funds raised going directly to Peter Mac.

This project has been created from a place very close to the heart. Cancer touches so many families in our community, including people we love dearly, and this is one small way we can come together through creativity, generosity and community spirit to make a difference.

✨ All mediums welcome
✨ Local and regional artists encouraged to participate
✨ Artwork does not need to be newly created
✨ All proceeds donated to Peter Mac
✨ Opening Night — Friday 2nd October, 6pm
✨ Orbost Arts Centre
✨ Exhibition closes Sunday 25th October
✨ Donated pieces to be received one week prior to opening

Whether you’re an established artist, a hobby artist, a photographer, potter, sculptor, textile artist, illustrator or creative maker — we would love to have you involved.

Even if you can’t donate a piece, you can still help enormously by sharing this post and spreading the word.

If you haven’t had the chance to pop into theOrbost Arts Centree to see the “Enchanted” exhibition, it’s on until 31st July.
Don’t forget to vote for your favourite entry!

I’ve entered 3 items, all figurines have been created using recycled copper wire.

1. fairy earring tree - with mumma fairy hanging earrings from the branches, whilst her daughter plays on a swing.
2. swamp sentinel - keeping his hatchlings and unhatched eggs safe, inspired by the tiny moss encased branch I found and used as his staff to ward off danger.
3. Wombmans bower - a peacock feather adorned bower for a pregnant, crystal encased, copper wire lady.
