This is not an easy thing to hide & sell
Not within the rod building or fishing community.

G’day All,
Like to thank everyone for the well wishes
Operation went well.
Key hole surgery so it’s been a lot less invasive ( still 5 cuts but )
I won’t show pictures 😵‍💫
Going to take a bit to recover
4 to 6 weeks
Home now TFFT, hospitals aren’t a place of rest.
Been well looked after. Drs, nurses & staff have been excellent ( food still sucks )
Got my rod bench to keep me occupied
See how I feel about customer work, but atm I need some rest for a short period ( maybe )

It’s not often I get to build something special for myself.
A new Lud rod in the process of becoming my newest toy.
A Honey BSG CR 4126
New centerpin reel.
The fun has begun ( & frustration )
Colours to choose from.
Guide train is set out, single foot Titanium guides, Plate seat, Heat shrunk rear grip, undecided on fore grip atm.
2nd last photo is the dirty side ( joins ) ( which will be under the reel plate ) Pretty tidy

Been waiting to be able to post this for a while.
Cam’s Grandfathers Butterworth Pastime Rod
When I met Cam he offered me this rod, there was no way I could be gifted his Grandfathers rod, I offered to restore it.
There’s a previous post of its condition.
The transformation is outstanding.
The blank has been stripped & restored, new thread colour scheme, new old style guide train, new cork & chrome plated brass reel seat.
Managed to source a new decal close match to the old existing one.

The post of the original condition has disappeared.

Damm I love a challenge.
And I’ve got one on the rod bench now.
Cam Jacobson’s Grand Fathers
Pastime rod.
When I met Cam who is the
Co-founder of Lake Mac Fishing (Serious one ) Fb page he offered me this rod.
There was no way in this earth I could inherit his grandfathers rod.
I offered to restore it.
So now the rebuild of this soon to be beautiful rod, once again is on a journey.
Going to keep it old school in the style they built them back then.
To say I’m excited is an understatement.
This is a privilege & I suppose an honour to be able to bring this rod back to it former glory.
I’ve certainly got my hands full with this one.
She’s in a, well let’s say

This made my day
Just had Ben a customer from early November message me saying
Thank you for the quality work on his expensive Daiwa spiral wrapped jigging rod.
It had taken a hit somehow, guides were broken, couple guides missing, one guide dislodged from its wrap
I noticed the split grip ( raw blank section ) had a wear mark from rubbing on his rocket launchers.
She certainly needed an overhaul.
Replaced most of the guide train,
The butt section was fully stripped & a new set of Eva grip’s installed to eliminate wear.

This a reason why I pride myself with perfection.
Customer satisfaction No. 1
