The other week I had this 1930's MG engine sump to be cleaned up. Unbelievable how the quality of these materials have stood the test of time. Almost 90 years old and being restored by a gentleman who really knows what he is doing and how to go about the process of restoration. I wonder whether today's components in modern vehicles will stand the same test of time ? I think not 👍

Dirty filthy 80 series gearbox housing components before and after shots.
Degreased and hydroblasting for a very good customer of mine.
If your getting a gearbox rebuilt this is the way to go !
For one ! you will find any defects in casings that might not of been found otherwise.
Two ! the surfaces are gently massaged and peened to become more resistant to dirt, oil and grease build up.
Three ! your gearbox rebuilder will thankyou for the clean base for a better job everytime.

Good customer is restoring his wife's toyota cressida and wanted to clean up the alloy wheels that had been effected by corrosion . This car was under carport and even had car cover over it for past 10 years and moisture had still got to alloy rims. These rims are not coated with even a clear coat so are perfect for hydroblasting bringing them back to original substrate. After hydroblasting with spherical glass beads it peens the surface and will repel any ingress of dirt and grime in the future.

This makes his job easier and also verifies there are no fractures in case to be repaired. And if it required tig welding it will be clean of all contaminants so welding will be a straight forward process.

About a week ago i had the privilege of refinishing the rocker covers and valley plate for a special client that is rebuilding the 1996 bathurst winning HRT commodore engine driven by Craig Lowndes/ Greg Murphy and also rocker covers for the pole winning 1997 car.
Keep your eyes peeled for these cars this time next year they may show up somewhere special.
This client has also looked after engines of Chaz Mostart and the team.

Had the opportunity to work on some vw heads during the week ! These heads are perfect for this process as over the years they get quite a bit of oil and grime build up between all the tight closely spaced aircooling fin's. Also have some very small openings in casting's in-between the cylinders that look like they block up effecting the cooling airflow if not kept clean . Vapour blasting/hydroblasting is perfect for cleaning and treating the surface so not only look like new but perform like new as intended by the original factory engineers ! Clean is the only way to go 👍

Great to see end result of this early 2000's Honda CR125 fully rebuilt by Ryan Taylor of POWERHOUSE motorcycles. Looked like it came straight out of the crate direct from Honda Japan. Also great touch of using new engine bolt kit to compliment all the parts as a whole. Well done 👍

Early 2000's CR125 parts brought back to life !
The cylinder was brand new in box and had to match cases as from the factory the cylinder has a dark grey appearance to surface. Customer of my client wanted it to match . Once hydroblasted it was a match for cases once they were cleaned ! These were cleaned up for a very good customer POWERHOUSE MOTORCYCLES and the engine is currently undergoing a full rebuild .
