Another submission for our upcoming exhibition Keepsake this time from ! 🤍🍝📸

“I read somewhere that life feels like it moves faster as we grow older because we begin to have fewer “firsts”. Our days melt into weeks as we fall into a daily routine”

“In an effort to live a fuller life, or rather a slower life, I often find myself seeking out new experiences, with a few rolls of film for company. My cameras have been with me through distant places, fleeting moments, and many new chapters. But after all that, there is still nothing I enjoy photographing more than my oldest friends.”

Thanks everyone who has sent something in to be printed on the night! it’s now the Last week to submit something to be printed, and to keep, maybe gift your mum, friend, or yourself 🫶

Another wonderful submission for our upcoming exhibition Keepsake by 🤍

“At the beginning of this year, my five year old mastered riding without his training wheels. Our favourite rides come after the rain, when puddles are gathered.

There is a tunnel near our house, a portal between suburban streets and the wide riverside beyond. He used to stop at its edge, scared of the darkness. So I showed him the echo. We stepped inside and I sang his name It bounced off walls coming back to shine wonder on his face. Now I trail behind, his legs pedalling with speed and confidence.

He sings as he rides and I listen for his voice bouncing back to me for a brief moment, milestones of his youth moving by”

We’re excited to announce our silver reclamation project for this year’s Keepsake exhibition 🤍

Sustainability and conservation have always been deeply important to our team. As a film lab, we work with silver every day through photographic chemistry, and a few years ago we introduced a silver reclamation system using electrolysis to separate silver from exhausted film chemistry before disposal. ♻️✨

Recovering silver from waste chemistry helps reduce environmental impact and prevents heavy metals from entering waterways, while also allowing these materials to be reused with care and intention rather than discarded!

For our 5-year exhibition in 2024, we handcrafted a small collection of sterling silver Silver Halide pendants using reclaimed silver from the lab.

This year, we’re creating something even more special from the silver we’ve recovered through the photographic process, transforming photographic waste into keepsakes with their own story and purpose behind them. 🤍

It feels especially meaningful to share this project today on Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday - someone who has inspired generations of people to care more deeply for the natural world and the importance of conservation.

The full collection will be released on the opening night of Keepsake - June 19th with all profit going to Safe Perth 🫶

A couple of submissions for our upcoming community exhibition ‘Keepsake’ by 🤍✍️ 🖼️

“My sweet boy Asher, who came to me during a really hard time and is always there for cuddles”

“He makes active effort to play in and hide under the bed sheets whenever I change them, and I’ve treasured it over the last decade with him”

Submission 2 “A moment I stopped to take it all in & remember the small details. I was caring for my terminally ill grandmother (my Nannie), and snapped this shot to remind myself of the moments that go by so quickly. She passed away 2 weeks after this shot was taken, and it holds such a special place in my heart”

Keepsake is an exhibition about the things that shape us, the people we love, the places we return to, and the passions that make us feel most ourselves.

Submissions are open until EOD Friday May 15th at [email protected]

We can’t wait to see you on the night! 🤍

Hey Silver, what were you like in 2023 but shot on a 1 megapixel digital camera from the 90’s? 🤓📹

They say the best camera is the one you have on you - well recently we found some old footage from a few years back shot a Digi cam. We think this was shot over a day or two -We decided to shoot a little day in the life video without thinking about it too much, working, building stuff, general antics, videos of the first black-and-white rolls to go through our converted processor, Buudas Valentine Valentine’s Day kissing Booth & Aimee hot dog sushi 🌭

The meta data in these clips had them in a date so far back that we never came across them, brought us some joy, we hope it can be our little way of reminding everyone to document everything!! 🤍
