Some watches have a story behind them. This one has the filmmaker’s name in it.

Francis Ford Coppola’s idea of using a human hand to tell the time became the F.P. Journe FFC. Developed with François-Paul Journe, the watch uses a mechanical hand with moving fingers to indicate the hours.

A watch born from a conversation between two creative minds, and one of the most unusual pieces in modern watchmaking.

Pablo Picasso wearing one of Rolex’s most iconic watches, the GMT-Master. The red and blue bezel, 24-hour hand and date display made it a true tool watch, but Picasso wore it with the same effortless style he brought to everything else.

Before the suits, the money and the gold watches, Jordan Belfort started out on Wall Street wearing a simple Seiko Solar SNE057.

Worn by Leonardo DiCaprio as Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), it’s the watch seen during his early days on Wall Street. A blue dial, day-date display and solar quartz movement for around $400.

Sometimes the most interesting watch is the one worn before everything changed.
