Nell's ring.

Nell's family and partner came together and got her gift vouchers and we created this ring for her 40th. She took one look at the gemstone collection and knew which stones would adorn her fingers in her new ring. It was such a pleasure to work with another small business owner and make the ring of her dreams.
Purple sapphires, green tourmaline and yellow gold.

Any guesses for what this pendant hidden locket used to be?
Or what kind of animal left its teef marks on the back....
Swipe for some clues of the before shot.

To get to the finished wearable pendant, this 18kt yellow gold watch housing had some challenges. It needed to have some metal placed into where the watch face was. Part reinforcement as the plate used was thin. The lug was hollow (I do wish I could see how it was orginally made) so I used thermolock to hold everything still while i snipped and burnish the edges down. I knew from the beginning I didn't want to have to solder, laser would be the best option. Once the form was there I cut out a disc in matching 18kt yellow gold to fit. Drew down some wire to create a north and south arc frames for photos inside, and the bails and voila!

This is the kind of piece that sings to me when I meet it. Generational, familiar memories.

Lizard signet with yellow (lab) diamonds set by and one of most incredible engraving by Nick K.

This ring was made from an old 14kt yellow gold bangle. I melted it down, rolled, shaped and filed, lots of hours in the jewellers gym. I think it turned out pretty great.

Thanks for looking.

Foundlings are here!

What are they? They are pieces of jewellery I have come across that I can’t pass up or can’t bear the thought of them being scraped. I always wonder about the past lives of precious metals pieces and gemstones. Like what would they tell us? Show us? Is a jewellery clairvoyant a thing? Like a pet one yeah? I digress.

I am taking this collection of “foundlings” as the opportunity for the next new chapter for these pieces.

I thought the lockets would be the perfect intro piece. I personally see this as the shift away from phones as photography data storage units, from to the cloud.
This way you keep the photos with you, physically intimately 🌟💜🪱

Are you or someone very important to you (your 🐕/🐈‍⬛/🦎) born in February?

Then amethyst is your mate then. Varying shades of purple, amethyst is from the quartz family of gemtsones, obviously not be confused with those crazy gemstones on HBO. Finished heated rivalry and started that show and wowser its something else.

Back to purple sorry, so quartz’s need a little care but can take being in rings as long as you are a little careful and take it off when you grab the shovel 😉
You may have seen ametrine around which is bi-colour quartz of amethyst and citrine, I’m super keen to make something with it 💜 💛

This weekend I joined the global day of action to boycott Caltex - it’s a great tippy toe entry for anyone interested in BDS (boycott, divest and sanction).

It was crucial in bringing about the end of apartheid in South Africa, we must remember and learn from the past.

Create a world with equality.
