But as a scholar once said, “all good things must come to an end” – and that notion just about sums it up for Marius and Rose who, throughout the 'noughties' and the 'twenty tens' have spent almost 25 years – creating, sourcing and hand-picking beads and findings from around the world. They were supplying their two shops – ‘Broome Beads’ in the far north sub-tropical Kimberley community of Broome and Margaret River Beads located in the heart of the state’s largest premium wine-producing region of Margaret River. But sometimes, the only thing left to do is to let go - even if it’s the hardest thing to do – and that was part of the reasoning behind their decision to close their shop. And sadly, age wasn’t doing them any favours either. Nonetheless, it was time for a sea change. So, unable to sell their business as a well-established retail entity, they decided to close their shop to pave the way for a new chapter with their beads by offering the remaining inventory to the public at enormously reduced prices
