OOOhhh the new Handmadeit magazine has just been released, with a fab new logo and LOTS to see inside.

My studio is upstairs so I don’t usually escape there on weekends when everyone is home. The other week I experimented with this little “travel cache” of tools to see if I could make some ear cuffs while still hanging out with the fam. I claim success!

(I’ve since got a little tool caddy that does the job a bit better!)

I’m making myself an Initial Letter pendant (as a possible prototype for a new collection!) But I’m finding it hard to decide on size and wire thickness - help!

Do you like this size (it’s about as big as my thumb) or prefer a big, statement size or small and subtle??

Also what about wire thickness? In the second pic, I’ve got two thicknesses. I do like the solid, substantial look & feel of the thicker wire, but the elegance and fluidity of the thinner. Which is your favourite?

My page briefly had a nice round number of followers today (before I culled some non-genuine profiles hehe) but I realised that the number itself isn’t what matters.

What really matters for me is the interest you take in my Lánua goings-on and the support you show through every like or comment or chat. They make such a difference to me and my experience of learning and making jewellery, and also to my day-to-day sense of belonging to a community (especially since I don’t get to do much of that in person).

So THANK YOU each of you for joining me :))) it means a lot 🧡

This surprised me! The other night I was experimenting with some wire bracelet pieces while the kids were getting ready for bed - and by the next morning I had created a whole new bracelet (thanks to some insomnia haha).

Then I looked for something to add a little extra detail and found these gorgeous faceted rainbow moonstone beads that I forgot I had - and they have a lovely little blue flash.

Perfect timing!

I was pretty excited, so I took most of the photos and have already it listed in my Madeit store 🩵

PRICE UPDATE i accidentally listed these at a higher price than intended - all fixed up now!

I recently made a pair of neat spiral studs in sterling silver, and a lovely person asked if I also make them in gold or rose gold - I LOVE getting these questions!

I’m always curious too, and so I decided to try making them from gold-filled wire.

With its thick bonded outer layer of 14k gold, this wire could withstand the shaping and cold-forging needed to make this sturdy little stud.

I have to say I love the result!

And I’ve gone ahead and added them to my Madeit store 💛
