Last chance to check out Members Only Exhibition at Craft Victoria 🧚

It was such an honour to have my work alongside so much amazing craft, and spot the work of fellow Tas artist (incredible).
artist and I also couldn’t resist the work of Sal Rosenberg , and are looking forward to having this beauty of a lamp in our home. I really felt like it was a stand out artwork covering so many crafts into one very cool piece - knit, ceramic, paper, metalwork. Yay! ❤️‍🔥

Very excited to share I will be a part of this survey exhibition by Craft Victoria - 'Members Only'

My work, 'Papilio Ulysses', feature the large wings of a Ulysses butterfly, and Australian Opals and Sapphires.
We are visiting Melbourne for the opening, it's going to be incredible show with so many artists and makers 🖤

Members Only is a platform for Craft members to exhibit their work to a wide audience, and to connect with fellow makers – bringing together 160+ artists from across Australia.

So, behind the scenes I’ve been working away on my website (for the past year or so, really) updating it, but also writing a lot so the content aligns with where me and my work are at. It’s a massive job that requires lots of care and patience… and learning a bunch of, let’s be fair, incredibly dull things.
Many of you know, but maybe some of you don’t, that it’s just me behind the scenes… maker, investor, creator, customer service, product photographer, copy writer, website builder etc. etc.
Anyway, the website is still quite a few weeks/months away but you will see some small changes start to trickle through.
🌙 Such as - the Goddess Earrings getting a new name!
Meet, the Lunar Earrings.
I’ve wanted to rename these absolute favourites for some time, to something a bit more inclusive.
They are staying the same, same vibe, same symbolism (release, renewal, turning if cycles), just a new name 🌙

One-of-a-kind Black Opal earrings for Jo 🖤

Jo had sourced these incredibly unique Black Opals and we worked closely together to design the earrings of her dreams.
I wish I took more photos/videos but I was very excited to get them to Jo, who had the patience and trust of an angel 💜

There were a few complexities to designing and setting these opals, as they were both unique in shape, and weren’t flat at the back. Any jeweller will tell you setting opals can be a daunting task… opals are as about as strong as glass, so they can chip, crack, scratch and break easily - especially when hammering metal over them!
There’s a lot of trust involved when people hand over these precious gems to me 🙏
I really appreciate when people give me the time and encouragement to test and expand my skills 🥰
