💜 Lobe Lovers, our next Catherine House - Support for Women Experiencing Homelessness fundraiser is a go 💜

Gather the masses! Join in the fun with a day of film and feel good vibes at Odeon Star Cinema, Semaphore, on Sunday, 27 September 2026 for Practical Magic 2. All while supporting Catherine House ♡

Catherine House is South Australia’s only dedicated recovery service for women experiencing homelessness, providing crisis and longer-term accommodation, mental health programs, and an on-site Women's Centre. Founded in 1988 by the Sisters of Mercy, it supports women aged 18 and over who are unaccompanied by children.

Movie: 'Practical Magic 2' commences at 4pm. A must see!

$30 per ticket + booking fee = film + door prize entry.

FYI - $20 is donated to Catherine House & $10 goes to Odeon Star Cinema Semaphore.

Come early - Raffle tickets with all proceeds donated & Love for Lobes to buy on site with extra donations from 3pm. Raffle drawn at 3:45pm.

An absolute privilege and honour to be recognised today as an inaugural recipient of the Philippa Dean Award for services to the Gawler business community and charitable endeavours + to stand alongside these fellow fabulous women from our Gawler community ♡

2026 marked the first year for this award in the Town of Gawler. May the many inspiring women continue to be acknowledged for their brilliance in years to come. Lobe Lovers, who run the world? xx

136 days ago, on International Women's Day thanks to IWD Committee comprised of a number of leading Gawler women’s groups including the Zonta Club of Gawler, I had the great privilege to announce the inaugural class of Phillipa Dean Award Recipients.

At that IWD breakfast, I promised the sixteen recipients, that I would host them for a reception in the Parliament of South Australia to commemorate the award.

Today, Minister Katrine Hildyard MP and Mayor Nathan Shanks - Town of Gawler along with those incredible women who pioneered female suffrage looking over us, celebrated the incredible contribution these women have and continue to make to our community.

Contributions for which they do not seek recognition, and all too often are unheralded.

I sincerely congratulate each of the recipients for the receipt of their Phillipa Dean Award and I look forward to opening nominations for next year’s Class.

Your reminder to get your skin cancer check 🙂. Our sun is harsh!

Have you had your skin checked?

If you didn’t know already, my mum died from melanoma aged 54. It was s**t. It still is s**t.

The stats are a bit more crap for me and my siblings because of that, so I always get checked annually, and in between if something doesn't look right.

Nothing nasty yet. A few removed over the years to be safe.

Today was a shave biopsy on one mole on my back because it no longer looks like the others. Results in 1-2 weeks. It will likely be nothing, but this is why we get checked! ♡
