“Do what you love, love what you do.”
It’s with a broken heart that we share that Angelo, our co-founder, mentor and creative shining light passed last Thursday.
Ang was a passionate, dedicated and generous creative soul. He adored making jewellery and sharing it with the world and we would not be the brand we are without his expertise and mentorship. He poured his heart and soul into every piece he created, and part of him will live on in every By Baby piece we create.
For Ang, jewellery was about connecting beauty and meaning. It brought him the most joy to make a soulful connection between a client and a piece of jewellery. He listened intently to the story that they wanted to tell, and carefully wove that into each piece. If you showed him a photo or sketch of a piece he made 25 years ago, he would always be able to tell you about the customer, and the story behind the jewellery.
He shared knowledge generously, teaching with steady hands and guiding with a grace and patience that helped many people to master their art form, jewellery or otherwise. He cared deeply about giving opportunities to all who crossed his path and he was eternally proud of his team, past and present.
Ang’s spirit lives on through us as we will do as he would. We will do what we love, and love what we do.
We’ll never forget you and everything you gave us, dad. You taught us so well. 💛
