The beautiful Katie has been sharing with me her pairings with her Studio Pony ring. I always really love hearing about how a piece made by me is worn and enjoyed. To also see it being worn in so many different ways, Katie is quite the style queen! ❤️❤️

These pieces symbolize the quiet promises we all have to ourselves. A dream, an ambition or a moment in our lives that needs to be treasured.

Studio Pony came from a personal space; a love of history, heritage, making and the idea that jewellery can hold meaning beyond adornment.

Thank you for being here as I share it with you ❤️

A glimpse of Studio Pony by GB. This ring is going to its new owner tomorrow.
The first handmade piece of the collection which is very exciting for me.
The collections from The Studio Pony range represents the inner strength required to evolve and the determination needed to stay true to oneself. Each piece acts as an emblem, marking life’s milestones to transform a personal story and goals into a wearable heirloom.

Aussie Gems /// Why do I have an obsession with these beauties? Many are harder to find than you realise. Most Aussie gems are hand fossicked with minimal impact to the ground. They are found by incredibly small operations which also means sometimes I have to pounce on something as the chance of finding it again is pretty much impossible. Sometimes I literally spend days and days on the hunt for something specific - it involves lots and lots of conversations and asking around with a big community I have forged over ten years with people working in the Outback and the amazing gem cutters who work locally in Australia.

I was chatting to one of those people today. The lovely Laura from reminded me today about how absolutely unique Australian gems are. Most pieces I make these days are such one-off bespoke commissions because these gems are becoming harder and harder to source, not necessarily because they are becoming scarce but more because less people have the time/ cash flow to “go out bush”. The Lagoon Ring and Soloro Ring featured here for example, have stones that I literally will not have access to again unless someone finds a little parcel somewhere. Aquamarine in Australia is so very rare so to is this Killiekrankie “Diamond”. One is only found in a small area of the NT and one is sourced from one small island in Tasmania. Then there is finding the rough gem stone that has the quality and size to go into a ring. Go figure that people want diamonds all the time 🤦‍♀️ if you want something that you literally won’t see on another persons hand, that has a complete provenance and an amazing story behind it, I’d be selecting a hand-cut Aussie Gem any day of the week and … definitely using a jeweller to find that gem for you as there’s a lot of 💩 out there. I love that I can bring these beautiful bespoke stones to clients and I love bringing these stones to the forefront so they can be worn for a lifetime.

PS don’t forget to guess the weight of my gold… head over to my previous post … maybe it can go towards a commission for a completely bespoke hand made piece?
