✨ I have some big news to share ✨

After many wonderful years in business here in the Hawkesbury, and over 30 years at the bench in total (wow, am I really that old?), Tracy Kelly Jewellery Design will be closing at the end of September.

This decision comes with a mix of emotions - gratitude for all the incredible clients, students, and friends I’ve met along the way, and excitement for what’s ahead.
To every person who trusted me with your jewellery, joined me in a class, or followed along here: thank you!

You’ve been the heart of this business and the reason I’ve kept going for so long, and I’ll always treasure the stories and connections we’ve shared.

On a personal level, while TKJD has come to an end, my creativity certainly hasn’t. I’ll still be playing in my studio (because it's still my happy place), I may host the occasional class if the mood takes me, and I'll be open to options as a travelling tutor for special events. But I also want more freedom to create for pleasure rather than business, whether that be embroidery, photography, jewellery, or whatever else inspires me along the way, without the restrictions and pressure of deadlines and obligations.

I’ll be closing down my Tracy Kelly Jewellery Design website in the near future, and shifting over to the online identity and space as FlossPossum.

While FlossPossum was developed as, and has up until now been, exclusively my Hand Embroidery persona and business, it will now become my one creative home online.

It will be my personal creative space, with a mix of jewellery, embroidery, photography, travel notes, and probably things I haven’t even thought of yet. It will evolve as I do, and it will be the one place for you to follow along if you choose to do so. This won't be a business, just a place for me to share what I'm discovering, making and creating.

Come join me if you’d like to keep following along:

Looking forward to what's coming next.

What to get the man who has everything....

It was Phil's birthday on the weekend. He enjoys a dry martini every now and then so I thought why not make it a bit more special with a sterling silver olive stick! 🍸🍸🍸 Very fancy!

I’ve been working on a new idea......

An intimate jewellery-making experience with champagne, grazing platters & gorgeous earrings

What if we had a girls’ night where we sipped bubbles, nibbled cheese, chatted, giggled and made earrings together? 🧀🍇🥨🥂

Who's up for something like this?”

Here's a flashback! Photos from my early teaching gigs at Grafton Artsfest. Not sure what the years were (or where they went!!), but lovely to see some familiar faces, and some who even came two years running!!
Great memories

Still a few spots left for Saturday's workshop in Windsor.

We're taking op-shop finds, upcycled materials, and old bits and bobs, and creating gorgeous earrings.....
Raid the junk drawer, the jewellery box, the toy box, and see what amazing things you can come up with.
You'll learn the basic techniques to turn almost anything into jewellery without the need for expensive equipment and tools. Take these skills away with you and make jewellery at your kitchen table!

You'll make two pairs of earrings in this short class.

Materials are supplied, including a range of beads and found treasures to spark your creativity, but feel free to bring along some bits of your own.

This Saturday 3pm - 6pm at Makers, Painters & Mayhem
$80 per person (adults only class)

Hope to see you there!

(If you can't make it this time, we have another scheduled for September)

Charm bracelets - Old-fashioned or making a comeback?
Charm bracelets used to be so popular! Every holiday destination, occasion, or milestone was often celebrated with a charm to add to your bracelet.
They went out of fashion towards the late 80s and were somewhat reinvented by a particular brand (let's not use the P word) in the early 2000s.
I'm seeing a shift away from the more modern styles, in favour of the original.
One difference though, is that less seems to be more - not so many chunky, branded bead style charms crammed on to a single bracelet, but rather, a select few meaningful charms on a strong-linked bracelet.
What are your thoughts? Are we going back to the classics or are the brands still on trend?

✨ Why does silver tarnish and how can we stop it?

If you've ever opened your jewellery box to find your beautiful silver pieces looking more like pirate treasure than polished perfection, you're not alone.

Silver naturally tarnishes when it reacts with moisture and sulfur in the air - a pesky process that leaves it looking dull and dark.

A couple of simple storage tips can help slow this down:
💡 Store your silver in airtight bags or containers (even a ziplock will do the trick).
💡 Keep a little piece of chalk or a silica gel packet in your jewellery box to absorb moisture.

But when tarnish does sneak in (as it inevitably does), a good polishing cloth is essential.

I have these fabulous silver polishing cloths available for $14 each, with free postage anywhere in Australia.

They’re 100% cotton, and specially impregnated with a unique formula to remove tarnish and leave your silver gleaming.

They even help protect against future tarnish. No messy liquids, no fuss, just a quick rub and your silver is back to its sparkling best.

Reusable (even when the cloth has turned black itself), long-lasting, and easy to keep on hand. A must-have for every silver lover.

✨ Message me to grab yours and keep your silver shining bright!

I've posted my hand embroidered earrings here before and now you can make them yourself !!!
As you may know, I've been teaching at Camp Creative Bellingen for a couple of years now (honestly, the best vibe of any event I've been involved with!), whether it be jewellery making or hand embroidery.
This year there are options for two and three day classes, rather than the five day option. So, as a two-day option, I'm offering this "Hand Embroidered Earrings" class.

Check out the detail below, and be sure to have a look at all of the other creative courses on offer, including my three-day "Introduction to Hand Embroidery" class.
Also, if you haven't yet, please head over to my other FB page FlossPossum

This two-day workshop offers students the opportunity to create a unique pair of hand-embroidered earrings. Participants will explore a range of embroidery stitches and techniques, and will be guided through the process of designing and stitching a creative design suitable for earrings. Once complet
