NMWmade

NMWmade Ceramics, Sculpture, Jewellery, Projects, Workshops made by Me The process takes time and consideration like all good things. Food is life.

NMWmade creates signature designs dishes through a unique manufacturing process that complements the food that you eat, the table you sit at and the family and friends you share with. The plates are created using a printing process, slab rolling and pressing into existing op shop plates.

'From the Ground Up' Series-
'From the Ground Up' are The earth coloured series. They are bisque fired and the

n painted with clay slip, wiped back, clear glazed and stoneware fired. The BRT (Buff Raku with Trackite) clay that is used has grog in it making it very strong. It is fired to stoneware temperature (1280*) which vitrifies the clay and glaze making it close to impermeable to water. This makes it Food safe, Dishwasher safe and Microwave safe. The choice of clay body compliments the food that is served on by looking like the ground from where our food is grown. You will find these plates at 'The Local' Growing Abundance cafe here in Castlemaine.

'The White' Series -
This is the new series in the making. Its using a white a paper clay body this time. Theres something quite beautiful in its simplicity. You will find the first of them here on the plates page. The amazing Pauline Langmead, Director of Melbourne Photography did the product photography and styling. The designs come and go according to the materials that they are made from. Some repeat but are never the same.

There is a natural and wonderful process that hand made food and hand made plates create together. So is art.

I hope you enjoy the dishes as much as I do creating them.

Bon appetite!
