Anatomy of a design 〰️ Delving into the unique characteristics of the Light Span ring.

All eyes are drawn first to the spectacular freeform cut green-blue QLD parti sapphire, set in an elevated radiant bezel to ensure the refraction of light reveals momentary flashes of olive, lime, jungle green, steel blue and slate grey among the prominent cool greens and teal blues of this truly unique gem. Either side of the centerpiece sits a radiant bezel finished white diamond and a pave boulder speckled with white diamonds and green-blue parti sapphires. These accompanying features sit each atop a rocky radiant setting, leading to the soft file finished band of this elegant 18ct white gold ring.

It was an honour to make this special birthday ring for KS, celebrating a personal milestone with a truly unique piece of jewellery.

Inspired by the practice of scientific fieldwork, careful notations of what is encountered, where, and when. Field Notes offers a different logic for meaningful jewellery. Not a portrait. Not a charm. A record, kept close.

Each ring is an assemblage - stones chosen for what they hold as much as how they look, set into hand carved/formed gold grounds that feel found rather than fabricated. Gathered colours and forms, representing people, places, a feeling, or simply something thats satisfies your specific eye. Notes from the filed, about you, and the people and places you’ve gathered.

Rings are available as individual pieces or designed as a stacking set. Each can be made to a specific brief, a stone for a person, a colour for a place, a form that marks a moment. The gathering can carry on over time.

Henge pieces, belonging to the Geologia collection, draw inspiration from ancient lithic formations, manifesting as pieces formed by textured rocky pillars and embodying a quiet strength. These mini earthworks are a gentle force on their own, but can also stand as beautiful supporting pieces to wear with others.

1. A striking emerald cut sapphire in a classic Sri Lankan blue, 6x4mm, 0.70ct
2. An enchanting round brilliant cut salt and pepper diamond, 6.23mm, 1.09ct
3. A moody oval blue green parti sapphire with surprising subtle flashes of teal and lighter blue hues, 7.4x5.4mm, 1.33ct

Bespoke doesn’t always mean designing something yet to be imagined. This custom ring for AW offered the ideal landing place for a family heirloom blue aquamarine; a larger iteration on my classic Ledge signet.

Showcasing all facets of this cool deep gem in a heavily textured, solid signet form offers a perfect contrast and balance, elevating it into a new realm.

Inspired by the brilliant glow of first light peeking over the horizon, Horizon I and Horizon II feature an alignment of five illuminating champagne diamonds.

These strikingly bold beauties also pair wonderfully with bands, like the Sunburst band and Lunar Signet, making them a beautiful option for engagements.
