After a life-altering fall, years of surgeries, and the long road of rebuilding both body and identity, .naomi chose to honour her journey in a way she could carry every day.

Swimming became her lifeline.
Courage became her compass.
And ‘BE BRAVE’ became the words that held it all together.

Her custom ring features three intertwined gold bands — white, yellow and rose — symbolising truth, hope and compassion, and the unexpected crossing of paths that helped restore her from the inside out.
The gemstones reflect the Paralympic colours, honouring the journey, the community, and the bravery it took to stand on that podium.

This ring isn’t about what was lost.
It’s about what was rebuilt.
And the promise Monique makes to herself every single day — to be brave.

Surfing was never just a sport for — it was a dance with nature, a conversation with the ocean.
Before world titles, she was a little girl in jazz ballet, learning rhythm and grace — lessons that shaped how she rides waves and lives life.

Life brought early challenges. As a seven-year-old Layne lost her mum and a year later discovered she was adopted. For years she tried to fill that space with achievement. Surfing became her sanctuary, a place where she channelled grief into energy and fear into courage. Winning seven world titles wasn’t about trophies alone; it was about perseverance, trust, self-worth and finding harmony with forces far bigger than her.

One day after a surf, her coach said words she’ll never forget: “You’ve forgotten the dance.”
That moment changed everything — reminding her that life isn’t about control, it’s about flow.

When we created her anniversary ring, it had to tell that story — platinum for strength, seven stones for seven world titles, and inside, one word that holds it all together: DANCE.

A reminder to stay in rhythm, trust the flow, and keep dancing — with every wave, challenge, and possibility ahead.
