The Cast Claw Trap.

Most engagement rings today are made in a mould.

In mass production, the band and the setting are "cast"—liquid metal poured into a shape. It’s fast, and it’s cheap, but it leaves the metal porous and brittle. This is why you see so many stories of stones falling out; the claws simply snap off because they lack structural integrity.

At Red Cloud Jewels, we don't use moulds (casts).

As Wayne Doyle explains, a piece built to last a lifetime must be hand-fabricated. We forge our settings from hand-drawn gold wire. This process compresses the metal, making it dense and incredibly strong.

Don't trust your legacy to a mould. Ask where and how the ring was made.

Most people assume they can judge a diamond just by looking at it in a display case.
